Olbermann versus Stewart... this is good.
It is about time someone called Olbermann out.
Earlier this week, Jon Stewart slammed Keith Olbermann in a Daily Show "Special Comment" for Olbermann's patently mediocre, ridiculous, immature, hyperbole-strewn commentary-cum-namecalling as of late. And last night, Olbermann responded in typical Olbermann fashion: like an asshole.

They should have thought it through
With all due respect to the people who are fighting for what they believe, they really should have put more time into thinking about their protest. Their ideas are solid, their concerns are valid, but the concept always seemed weak to me. This is just another point of embarrassment. Of course, true believes won't be stopping.

I think I dis-like Olbermann the more and more I see him. He's just a jerk. Here he goes back, once again to hit O'Reilly over a poor choice of words made years ago. For the most part he uses his "Worst Person in the World" segment to dis-claim any deal between himself, and O'Reilly or between the two networks. He even goes on an insane ramble about solidarity with O'Reilly in fighting censurship.

Click the link to read the whole story about Erich "Mancow" Muller and his fake water boarding stunt. If I had to choose sides between Olbermann and Gawker, it would be Gawker for sure - on any issue.
He wasn't subjected to anything close to the conditions that actual waterboarding victims suffer, or, for that matter, that journalists like Christopher Hitchens who undertook the procedure suffered. He decided to get waterboarded, so he asked his publicist to find someone who knew nothing about it to look it up on the internet and do it to him. We say it all adds up to a fake—either by orchestration or half-assed laziness. The only reason that Olbermann—or anyone else for that matter—could come to a different conclusion is ideological fervor. This, according to Olbermann, is "changing the debate" on torture.

President George W. Bush issued a statement this morning:
"Laura and I are deeply saddened by the death of our dear friend, Tony Snow. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife, Jill, and their children, Kendall, Robbie and Kristi. The Snow family has lost a beloved husband and father. And America has lost a devoted public servant and a man of character. ... He brought wit, grace and a great love of country to his work. His colleagues will cherish memories of his energetic personality and relentless good humor. All of us here at the White House will miss Tony, as will the millions of Americans he inspired with his brave struggle against cancer."

Tony Snow was an optimistic, funny, and courageous man who could set aside his politics and inspire others to do the same. It was with great sadness that I heard of his death today, and with sincerity I extend my condolences and my staff's to his family. Well, I'd known Tony before. So I'd met him in Washington years ago and I knew of him. And I always thought he was a great communicator and what people don't know about Tony is that he was a genuine intellectual. He had traveled, he understood a lot about foreign policy, he was a writer. He was a very deep thinker. On top of that, he was, he played in a rock band, and sometimes did things you didn't expect of him. So he was a renaissance man in a sense and kind of guy who could go anywhere and have an intellectual conversation with anyone. At the same time, the only thing he ever worried about was his family. That was the only time I ever saw Tony show any concern about anything. If you got on to the family, he'd tell you about his wife, he'd tell you about his kids, and you could tell, that was his focus and his concern, and where he put all of his effort. So, you know, he was a man that we just all admired greatly.
Greta Van Susteren, who anchors a special edition of On The Record tonight at 9pmET, responds on her blog:
Tony was a favorite...not just of mine but of everyone who has worked with him...he was the first person in the DC Bureau to welcome me to Fox and he never stopped being just about the nicest guy you ever met. I never heard him say a harsh thing about anyone (something that I can't say about myself...) I have asked to come in tonight and do a one hour special about Tony.

This isn't remarkable, Olbermann is not a journalist, he is a stooge for Obama, the person who made NBC, the National Barack Chanel.
What’s much more notable is Olbermann’s full-scale reversal on how he talks about these measures now that Obama — rather than George Bush — supports them. On an almost nightly basis, Olbermann mocks Congressional Democrats as being weak and complicit for failing to stand up to Bush lawbreaking; now that Obama does it, it’s proof that Obama won’t “cower.” Grave warning on Olbermann’s show that telecom amnesty and FISA revisions were hallmarks of Bush Fascism instantaneously transformed into a celebration that Obama, by supporting the same things, was leading a courageous, centrist crusade in defense of our Constitution.

Huffington Thinks Olbermann Would Be A Good Fit for MTP
First of all, you know, my critique of Tim Russert was all about him as a journalist, not about him as a human being. So obviously, with his death, the focus has been on him as a father, a son, a Buffalo Bills supporter. But in terms of journalism, I think the need for the network will be to make sure that whoever succeeds him after Tom Brokaw's interregnum would challenge the conventional wisdom. I think that is they key. Challenging the conventional wisdom.
This reminds me of the famous quote, not all who mock their chains are free. I think that Olbermann goes against the conventional wisdom, but offers little of his own to replace it with.
