"Clinton Now Means Hillary, Not Bill, Who Stands In Her Shadow." [Clips]

"Clinton Now Means Hillary, Not Bill, Who Stands In Her Shadow." [Clips]: "
60 Minutes's recent Hillary Clinton profile includes a rare look inside her office, plus a question about whether she perceives 'a viewpoint of gender bigotry, so to speak' (just say 'sexism,' it's shorter) when people ask what her husband thinks. More »

Bill Clinton has a point, but the wrong one...

I think Bill Clinton has a point about the effect of language of people's behavior, and it is important when tough issues are being discussed to avoid language that could incite and inflame people to violence. The unfortunate problem with the point he made is the implication it is only parties on the right that have been violent, and that we need to be concerned about. Truth is, there are people on all sides with the ability and the willingness to be violent. Truth is language on all sides goes too far.

"Fifteen years ago, the line was crossed in Oklahoma City. In the current climate, with so many threats against the president, members of Congress and other public servants, we owe it to the victims of Oklahoma City, and those who survived and responded so bravely, not to cross it again."

Taylor Marsh: Dear Huffington Post, About That Headline

Taylor Marsh: Dear Huffington Post, About That Headline

While it is true, that Bill Clinton and his mission got a lot of attention, I don't think that means he stole it from Hilary Clinton. Fact is Mrs. Clinton is traveling in Africa, a place most Americans don't know about and don't care about - which is sad. Mrs. Clinton's trip probably never would have gotten much media attention, helping Somalia may be something very important to America, but not to Americans.

CNN Political Ticker: All politics, all the time Blog Archive - Obama discusses his chat with Bill Clinton « - Blogs from CNN.com:

"In Obama's first comments about his widely-covered phone conversation with the
former president Monday morning, the Illinois senator said the two did not dwell
on the prolonged and at times divisive primary race."

While the talk about them not talking was over played, this has been equally over played.

Bill Clinton’s ‘Squinting Two-Minutes Hate’ on CNN | NewsBusters.org

Bill Clinton’s ‘Squinting Two-Minutes Hate’ on CNN NewsBusters.org:

"This was classic bait-and-switch.... These Republicans that are all upset about
Petraeus - this is one newspaper ad. These are the people that ran a television
ad in Georgia with Max Cleland, who lost half his body in Vietnam – in the same
ad, with Osama bin Laden and Saddam Hussein. That’s what the Republicans did.'
Clinton also brought up the 'Swift Boat' attack on John Kerry during the 2004
presidential campaign. 'These are the people that funded the Swift Boat Veterans
For Truth. And the President appointed one of the principal funders of the Swift
Boat ads to be an ambassador. But they’re really upset about Petraeus. But it
was ok to question John Kerry’s patriotism on the blatantly dishonest claims by
people that [sic] didn’t what they were talking about.'"

The Republicans do not have the strongest leg to stand on when it comes to these matters.

Hillary jokes Bill looked into No. 2 job - Yahoo! News

Hillary jokes Bill looked into No. 2 job - Yahoo! News:

"Asked by talk-show host David Letterman if Bill Clinton could serve as her vice
president should she be elected to the White House, the former first lady
acknowledged that he could not. 'Believe me,' she joked, 'he looked into that.'"

I know this is a joke, but I think that this is real concern that many people have regarding her run for the White House. While there are many people who loved Clinton when he was president, there are also a lot of people that remember the Clinton administration for its troubles, and don't want to repeat those problems. This is something that Hilary should have stared further away from, and shouldn't be joking about.

Hillary and Diana: You connect the dots. - By Mickey Kaus - Slate Magazine

Hillary and Diana: You connect the dots. - By Mickey Kaus - Slate

In a piece of work that should have been published in The Onion as opposed to at a real news site, which I was under the impression Slate was, Kaus attempts to connect the dots between Diana, Bill Clinton and his wife running for president. He claims that Bill had bugged phones in the past, and the Diana and her lover Ted Forstmann believed their phones were bugged. Why would Bill bugg Diana and he lovers phones, because he was at one time thinking about running against Hillary for the senate in New York. I really don't see that these dots connect to form anything other than a delusion.
