Romanian Villager Sends PBS Message in Bottle to Debunk Its Anti-Mining Documentary

According to the Environmental Impact Assessment of the proposed gold mine, the river water currently - as a result of the old, environmentally dangerous mine - contains 64 times the legal limit for iron, 110 times the legal limit for zinc, 3.5 times the legal limit for arsenic, and gets its reddish orange color from cadmium.

Canadian mining company Gabriel Resources - the company behind the mining project that the environmentalists are trying to halt - would clean up river and old mine as part of its project.

Far from the pristine village as portrayed by PBS, Rosia Montana is an environmental disaster now - that's the message of Gheorge's bottles of river water.

If it is Christians who are teaching the heathens about what they honestly believe is the only way to save their souls, or it is environmental groups based in America, treading lightly is important. There appear to be some solid things in this deal with the mining company that are good for the town. I understand the concern of the environmental groups, but that shouldn't be more important than the concerns and the desires of the people who live in the town. Coming from the west, and having so much power and money it is hard not to step on the toes of the little guy. That should be the first priority though.

"PBS omnipresence Bill Moyers devoted his entire hour-long Bill Moyers Journal
on Friday night to the need to impeach George Bush and Dick Cheney. The stacked
hour had two guests, and both were aggressively pro-impeachment: John Nichols of
The Nation magazine, author of the book 'The Genius of Impeachment,' and lawyer
Bruce Fein, who Moyers labeled a 'conservative,' but he compared Bush to King
George III, to Adolf Hitler, to the communist autocrats of the Gulag, and to,
well, FDR, in suggesting the post 9-11 era could see a mistake like our
interning of Japanese Americans. In this conversation, Moyers sometimes played
the skeptic, but the overall tenor of the hour was not only anti-Bush, but
anti-Speaker Pelosi for being so timid: 'Why doesn't Nancy Pelosi see it her
duty to take on at least the impeachment hearings that you say would educate the
public?'"

Impeachment is wrong for America, I thought it was wrong when the republicans did it to Clinton and I believe that it is wrong now. Democrats need to invest their time and energy into their own candidates and winning elections in 2008. Moveon.com was started under the premise that the best way to deal with the Clinton problem was to censure and move on. I say the best thing Democrats could do right now is isolate Bush and move on.
