Rudy Giuliani: A Betrayal of Trust

Who Is... United States Republican presidential candidates, 2008 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

United States Republican presidential candidates, 2008 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia:

John McCain, born August 29, 1936, in the US-controlled Panama Canal Zone, Senator from Arizona. Often characterized as a Republican maverick in the Senate, he is well-known. In 2000, he failed in his attempt to deny George W. Bush the Republican nomination: McCain continued his ultimately unsuccessful campaign long after the other Republican candidates had united behind Bush. McCain's bipartisan compromise on judicial nominations and his strong support of campaign finance reform have drawn the ire of many groups, many of which have vowed to work against any McCain campaigns for the Republican nomination in 2008. However, he has a strong stance on many issues and economically falls more along the lines of traditional 'fiscal conservatism.' These factors, along with his commitment to the War on Terror (including Iraq) have boosted his popularity amongst conservatives since 2004, when he emphasized these traits while stumping for Republican candidates. If elected, he would become the oldest person in history elected president, surpassing Ronald Reagan, and if elected to two terms, McCain would be the oldest sitting president in U.S. history. On November 15, 2006, McCain announced that he would form an exploratory committee. On 'The Late Show with David Letterman' on Feb 28, 2007, Sen. John McCain announced he will seek the GOP presidential nomination, and made a formal announcement on April 25, 2007.

Election Central | Talking Points Memo | Alan Keyes Running For President

Election Central Talking Points Memo Alan Keyes Running For President:

"Frequent candidate Alan Keyes announced on Friday that he has filed a statement
of candidacy for president with the Federal Election Commission. Keyes, a former
diplomat in the Reagan administration, ran for senator from Maryland in 1988 and
1992, for president in 1996 and 2000, and for senator from Illinois in 2004."

The only thing I know about Keyes is that he is known for his socially conservative stand on the issues. He was in a debate with Obama earlier in the season, in which he was pushing for laws against gay marriage and Obama was defending the rights of gays. Yes, and he is African American. Could that factor draw votes away from Obama?

Cradle of civilization being looted and destroyed - AMERICAblog: A great nation deserves the truth

Cradle of civilization being looted and destroyed - AMERICAblog: A great nation deserves the truth:

"'There are 10,000 archaeological sites in the country. In the Nassariyah area
alone, there are about 840 Sumerian sites; they have all been systematically
looted. Even when Alexander the Great destroyed a city, he would always build
another. But now the robbers are destroying everything because they are going
down to bedrock. What's new is that the looters are becoming more and more
organised with, apparently, lots of money."

It is the sad reality that conflicts of today damage the historical remains of yesterday. I want to believe that if these sites have remained this long, they may be damaged, but they will survive. As far as artifacts being stolen, I find it hard to believe that this wasn't happening under Saddam, when there was wide spread poverty. We didn't have the same awareness of it that we have now of course. To be clear, I think that steps should be taken to save these ancient ruins, but damage happens.

Abizaid: World could abide nuclear Iran - Yahoo! News

Abizaid: World could abide nuclear Iran - Yahoo! News:

"WASHINGTON - Every effort should be made to stop Iran from obtaining nuclear
weapons, but failing that, the world could live with a nuclear-armed regime in
Tehran, a recently retired commander of U.S. forces in the Middle East said
Monday. "

Could the world live peacefully with a nuclear Iran, or would it be such a danger that it would lead to war. Would the imbalance in the region lead to conflicts between Iran and its neighbors, maybe even among its neighbors that would bring the whole region into conflict. I don't see the nations of the gulf, embracing Iran, a historic enemy, as a nuclear power. That means they are either going to step up their own arms defenses or take military action themselves to stop the production.

Iran should not have nuclear weapons, the stability of the region, and the security of Israel would be put at to great a risk.

Should teachers be allowed to pack a gun? | csmonitor.com

Should teachers be allowed to pack a gun? csmonitor.com:

"Ashland, Ore. - In court documents, she's known as 'Jane Doe.' Innocuous
enough, but the woman behind that pseudonym pushes one of the nation's hottest
political buttons: guns and school safety. What Ms. Doe wants to do is take her
Glock 9-mm pistol to the high school in Medford, Ore., where she teaches. She's
licensed to carry a concealed weapon and she has what many supporters say is a
legitimate reason for being armed: a restraining order against her ex-husband
based on threats he's allegedly made against her and her children. "

This is a bit off the topic at hand, but at the same time not. If one of the teachers in Virgina Tech had a gun, maybe lives could have been saved. At the same time, if there is going to be a gun in a classroom, how do you secure it to make sure that it doesn't get into the students hands. Couldn't a kid get a hold of a teachers gun, and take out either other students or them self in a rage. Guns are a touchy issue all together, how much of a danger to they present by being present as opposed to how much safety is generated in their defensive capacity.

As for this teacher, if she is so concerned about her safety, maybe she shouldn't be teaching right now. Take a vacation until this is over, if she is in danger at school, she is putting her students in danger - even if she doesn't have a gun.

ABC News: Banned in Iraq: Security Co. Booted for Civilian Shooting Incident

ABC News: Banned in Iraq: Security Co. Booted for Civilian Shooting Incident:

"The Iraqi government said Monday that it was revoking the license of an
American security firm accused of involvement in the deaths of eight civilians
in a firefight that followed a car bomb explosion near a State Department
motorcade"

This could develop into a real problem for the administration. Blackwater, has taken on much of the security of the state department, and other American and Iraqi officials. If they are not allowed to work in the country, would the US armed forces take over their jobs, or would they be handed over to another security company.

The details that are coming out in the American media make it sound like they responded to an attack on an American State Department convoy. This could be as much about the prime minister standing up to the Americans and the hated security company to gain political points.

BREAKING: Britney Spears Temporarily Loses Custody

A Socialite's Life: BREAKING: Britney Spears Temporarily Loses Custody

"We have just learned that Britney Spears will be temporarily relinquishing
custody rights of her two sons. She will be ordered to turn over Sean Preston
and Jayden James to her ex-husband, Kevin Federline as a result of testimony
made against the pop star, alleging reports of 'nudity, drug use and safety
issues post-rehab,' made by her bodyguard, Tony Barretto. "

While this is a mess of her own making, I still feel bad that she could lose her kids. She may not be a great mother, but I think that she really loves those kids. This might help her get her life in shape though. Britney is going to need to get strong if she is going to get through this.

To Catch A Predator: She Didn't Look A Day Under 14 - Gawker:

"This is 1x-year-old Maddison Gabriel, an Australian model who has
caused something of a controversy in her native country after being chosen as
the official ambassador of Gold Coast Fashion Week in Australia. Britain's Daily
Mail and John Howard, the Prime Minister of Convict Island, are fulminating, but
young Maddison (uh, WTF Australia?) is unbowed. 'I believe that I can fit into
women's clothes. I can model women's clothes, so I should be able to do it,' she
says. "

Okay, first of all take a guess at how old this young lady is that is causing such a storm with our friends down under. Then click on the link to see if you are right. The only thing I am going to say, is that it really concerns me to see something this young being put forward in such a sexual way. It is one thing to be a model, yet another to be modeling womyns bikini's at an age where being a womyn is something you are still discovering.

Times to End Charges on Web Site - New York Times:

"The New York Times will stop charging for access to parts of its Web site,
effective at midnight Tuesday night, reflecting a growing view in the industry
that subscription fees cannot outweigh the potential ad revenue from increased
traffic on a free site."

This is great news for news junkies who have been frustrated by being blocked from reading news stories because they didn't want to shell out the money for them. It will also draw more traffic to the site. the New York Times is a respected name in journalism, among most people anyway. The only reason not to link to it is that you know readers would have to pay.

CBS Begins to Acknowledge That Kid Nation Will Not Be Good / Jossip:

"To maintain an air of “mystery” around Kid Nation, CBS will not give advance
episodes to critics for review. Ironically, this air of mystery was not
maintained for advertisers, who were offered an advance screening earlier this
month. But without seeing an episode, here’s our advanced review: Kid Nation
will be sort of creepy."

I don't see how this show is going to hold viewers beyond the first couple episodes. If they have some stupid romantic affair between the kids, that would be so outrageous. If they have some trumped up reality fight, like all the shows have now, how much would you like to watch kids fights. The appeal to the show doesn't seem to be there, and if it is, it makes it more uncomfortable to watch not more entertaining.

If convicted, OJ Simpson will serve more than NINETY YEARS in jail

If convicted, OJ Simpson will serve more than NINETY YEARS in jail:

"Simpson was to be booked on two counts of robbery with a deadly weapon,
two counts of assault with a deadly weapon, conspiracy to commit burglary and
burglary with a firearm, police said. The district attorney, meanwhile, said he
expected Simpson to ultimately be charged with seven felonies and one gross
misdemeanor. If convicted of the booking charges, Simpson would face up to 30
years in state prison on each robbery count alone."

Isn't that nice to think about, the juice locked away for the rest of his life, locked away from his golf clubs and his search for the real killer. Chances are though that even if he is convicted he won't get any time, and if he does get time it won't be any where near this amount.

If you are going to be a little bitch like that, then no one wants you around anyway. Common who would be afraid of Elisabeth, sure she is conservative, that doesn't make her a monster, she is a sweet womyn. If anyone looks bad in all of this it is Manilow, that he is passing up an appearance on a hit show because he is afraid to talk to someone who might disagree with him.

Vanessa Hudgens Nude Photos Taken At Fifteen | Pop Crunch

The National Enquirer claims ‘High School Musical’ star Vanessa Hudgens was fifteen when she posed seductively for a series of raunchy flicks currently sweeping the Net.

Wow, thats pretty young to be taking nude pictures of yourself for your boy friend. What this really means though is that all those websites that posted the pictures - which I have not. All those websites are technically trafficking child porn. It might be a good idea to take them down now. There are still some up, I am not going to link to them.

Yes, it is true, even I have to admit that she is starting to look hot recently. I don't know what it is that she is doing, but she is doing it right. Maybe it is because she isn't shoving her breasts in our face in these pictures. She does have a beautiful face.

Kevin's secret weapon! | INF Daily

Kevin's secret weapon! | INF Daily

This is Kevin Federline's secret weapon in his bitter custody battle with ex-wife Britney Spears. His known only as Tony, and he was formerly one of Britney's most trusted bodyguards - until she fired him earlier this year. Tony was by Britney's side constantly during her "breakdown" period, and is therefore in an excellent position to give the court his opinions on her abilities as a mother, and according to news reports may even have seen her doing drugs in front of her two young sons! Tony is being repped by famed attorney Gloria Allred, and he gave his testimony this morning. This thing's really heating up!

Turns out that the secret weapon is a body guard. I was hoping that it was going to be her manny, we never see him with her anymore. The body guard would have plenty of information that he could spill about Brit, if that information is out there. Who ever is working with Kevin, may be trying to make a case in the media more than the court room. Why was the body guard a secret witness for example?

Egotastic! - Elisha Cuthbert Sex Tape!?

Egotastic! - Elisha Cuthbert Sex Tape!?

Okay, this is either the greatest news ever, or the most annoying fake story ever, but without being able to verify the story, we are hearing rumours of an Elisha Cuthbert sex tape!
Yes, you read that right, an Elisha Cuthbert sex tape. Supposedly, there is a tape featuring Elisha Cuthbert having sex, that may show up fairly soon, in a ParisExposed-type fashion, according to the blog Geno's World.

That could be one hot video. Cuthbert doesn't get a lot of attention, even on this blog. She is however one hot lady. It is still at the questionable stage though, we always hear these rumors about tapes that never surface. This is probably one of those cases.

Hayden Panettiere Looked Ridiculous

Hayden Panettiere Looked Ridiculous

Hayden Panettiere was at the Emmys last night wearing all of the curtains from
the first floor of someone's castle. It's a good thing she slicked back all of
her hair to accentuate her giant bobblehead because for a second there I was
worried she might try to look attractive.

Hayden is a beautiful womyn, but this dress looks like it belongs on an antique doll, it is horrible. Everyone makes fashion mistakes sometimes, and Hayden has a track record of success, so we can let this slip. Lets hope she makes better choices in the future.

Wasser Walks

Wasser Walks

Who the hell does Britney have now? No manager, no lawyer, no stylist and now
TMZ is reporting that her lawyer, Laura Wasser, is walking. Laura will submit
papers to the courty today withdrawing herself as Brit's lawyer.

I think she does actually have a manager now, otherwise she probably would have tried to cancel on the VMAs. This is a hard time to be dealing with a change in lawyers though, it might have to do with specialities in different fields of law. The rumors are saying that it is because Britney would not listen her to lawyers advice. Yeah it could be that too.

She Wouldn't! Would She?

She Wouldn't! Would She?

ETonline is reporting that the FBI are currently investigating a possible hit that was put on KFed! WTF?! Who would want to kill that douche! Only one person I can think of....

The LAPD and the FBI are currently in the process of contacting KFed to let him know about the threats. ETonline claims they've been working on the story for two months. The FBI and the LAPD would neither confirm nor deny. Hmmm....let's round up the suspects!

Wait, do we really think that someone would put a hit out on Kevin? Common, is this guy really worth all that effort and money? Wonder where this story is going and who could be behind it. It doesn't sound like something Britney would do, but maybe they should talk to her weaping fan Chris Crocker.

SIZZLER: Things That Have NOT Gotten People Banned From The Chateau Marmont

SIZZLER: Things That Have NOT Gotten People Banned From The Chateau Marmont

This morning, the NY Post reported that Britney Spears has been permanently
banned from hotel and notorious Hollywood celeb hangout The Chateau Marmont.
This unprecedented banning is reportedly on account of Spears’ bizarre and
erratic behavior while dining in the restaurant, where she allegedly smeared the
high-priced cuisine all over her face (though in her defense, maybe that’s just
how she eats).

This isn't the first time that rumors have gone around that a star has been banned from the famous hotel. A number of times similar rumors went around about Lindsay Lohan, if the pattern holds true, in a couple days the hotel will refuted he claim in the media. It could be that the hotel itself is leaking these stories, one to place emphasis on the fact that stars hang out there. Secondly every time one of these rumors goes around, there is a history of the hotel that comes with it. Neither could be that bad for their PR.

Lindsay Lohan's "Friend" from Rehab Denies Benefits

A Socialite's Life: Lindsay Lohan's "Friend" from Rehab Denies Benefits

"Tony Allen, who had been rumored to be romantically involved with La Lohan
is giving us all the whole 'we're just friends' speech. Allen, who spent
forty-five days of rehab at the Cirque Lodge where Lindsay is currently
receiving treatment in Utah, said of the starlet, 'She is my friend.'
Additionally, he told People magazine that she seems to be making progress on
her road to recovery."

First of all this is the same guy who talked to the press before about Lindsay, reporting that they were great friends and touching off these rumors or a relationship. Could it be that he started the rumors, just so that he could come back later and deny them. Now he is saying he is just friends with her, so it could mean any number of things. That he actually cares about her, and wants to avoid the bad press of what a relationship would mean. That Lindsay threatened him if he didn't come out and deny. That he isn't even friends with Lindsay, but is using her name to further his dream of being a musician.

A Chequer-Board of Nights and Days: Reprise

A Chequer-Board of Nights and Days: Reprise:

"When government is in charge of health care, the result is not that everyone
gets access to experimental treatments, but that people get less of the care
that is absolutely necessary. At any given time, just under a million Canadians
are on waiting lists to receive care, and one in eight British patients must
wait more than a year for hospital treatment. Canadian Karen Jepp, who gave
birth to quadruplets last month, had to fly to Montana for the delivery:
neonatal units in her own country had no room. Rationing in Britain is so severe
that one hospital recently tried saving money by not changing bed-sheets between
patients. Instead of washing sheets, the staff was encouraged to just turn them
over, British papers report. The wait for an appointment with a dentist is so
long that people are using pliers to pull out their own rotting teeth"

Taking government care from the public profit sector and putting it in the public government sector, means exchanging profit concerns for political ones. If a capitalist system makes decisions based on profit concerns, government run systems make choices based on political concerns. This isn't a clear advantage in my book.

American Thinker: Why Did FDR Invade North Africa?:

"One of the clichéd questions of the Left is 'Why did Bush invade Iraq? We were
attacked by Saudi Arabians on 9/1 !' Or so goes the customary narrative. "

The argument is that in attacking Africa, we were attacking their ability to work as a team to attack American interests. The terrorists that attacked us on 9/11 may not have been connected to Iraq. Following the logic of this, the fact that they both had interests in attacking America, we had to attack Iraq so that they would not form an alliance to attack America. If Saddam had weapons of mass destruction, which he wanted, could he have given them to terrorists to attack America with. Iraq under Saddam would gain from an attack on America, hoping that we might pull back and allow him to regain power in the region. Could they have made plans to work together in the future

Hamas' new order exacts toll on Gazans - Washington Post - MSNBC.com:

"Gaza's streets have taken on an increasingly Islamic cast in recent
months. The improved everyday security has brought people back to the markets,
beaches and parks, many of them women wearing for the first time the full black

In the end there are two kind of parties in Muslim countries. Those who support open and democratic countries, support secular governments and individuals rights and those who enforce Sharia. Hamas while it claimed to be a party that supported the rights of the people, is showing itself to be just another repressive Islamic party.

Gabby Babble: Will 50 Cent Retire Now?:

"50 Cent was arrogant when he vowed to retired from solo rapping if Kanye West's
album, Graduation, outsells his album, Curtis on the first week. So far, Kanye
West's album outsells 50 Cent's album by about 200,000. I bet Fiddy will find
some excuse to not stand by his word."

I wonder how many people bought the album just to see if 50 really would retire. This reminds me of when the Dixie Chicks came out against Bush. Many people who would never had purchased their CD before, felt like they should go out and buy one. Wonder if some people bought Kayne just to make 50 retire or to test him.
