The Highway connector in Oakland that was destroyed by a fire resulting from the accident of a gasoline truck could re-open within 10 days. The ramp connecting two interstate freeways has been blocked since the accident on Sunday. The ramp will not need to be built from scratch, which means that it will be a shorter time to repair. The steel girders holding up the lower ramp were warped but not structurally damaged.
