Cops seek invites to search teens' rooms - Crime & courts- msnbc.com:

"BOSTON - Boston police will ask parents in high-crime areas to let detectives
search their children's bedrooms for guns without warrants in a new anti-crime
program."


I don't get this, if they are doing the searches without evidence, then why would parents agree to this. I am not a person that gets upset about privacy issues often. However we are talking about a massive invasion of a young persons privacy. If the police have evidence, then why not get a warrant?
