We were disappointed to see this picture because it is both offensive to many Cuban-Americans -- and Americans of all backgrounds -- and because it does not reflect Senator Obama’s views. Barack Obama has been very clear in putting forward a Cuba policy that is based on one principle: freedom for the Cuban people."
This is a problem that comes from how people see Obama. They see him as a messiah, in the same way that many of them see Che. The image that many of the followers of Obama have of him is one that Obama is going to have to walk back from if he is going to appeal to main stream voters. If common voters see him as a mix of Ralph Nader, Che and Patty Hearst, it will hurt him. Much of Obama's base see him as just this person though, and if he pulls against that too much, he risks losing many of his core supporters.
