This isn't the first article to discuss the hatred and racism that seemed to surround Sarah Palin during the campaign. I don't know if this reflects Palin's ideas or not, and to be honest it isn't clear how much she is aware of it - at least while it is happening. However, while this article like others before overstates the connection between Palin and this hate, it does make a point. If she was never aware of it, she is surrounded by enabler that shouldn't be trusted and must be extremely ego-centric. However, if she did know about it, she had a moral responsibility to speak against it. It should be remembered that John McCain spoke against the hate when he became aware of it.
clipped from www.cnn.com Palin's curious tour schedule takes me right back to some of the more disturbing displays during last year's campaign, when people at some campaign rallies at times made racist remarks. |
