Google Says Android, Chrome OS Will Eventually Converge
There's no Chrome OS tablet in the works. Instead, the notebook OS will converge with Android.
This does seem like a natural evolution. I haven't gotten a Chrome book yet, but I want one.

"Just as strife in the former Yugoslav republic confounded first President George Bush and then his successor, Bill Clinton, the bloody crackdown in Syria — underscored by last week’s massacre of children and other villagers — has put Mr. Obama in a deeply uncomfortable position. With American troops only recently withdrawn from Iraq and still in Afghanistan, the president is loath to engage in new military actions, especially one with few advocates, even among human rights groups. And yet with each passing incident, the scale of the crisis grows."We don't need to invade the country, we just need to eliminate the forces that are threatening and killing civilians. Air power is an imperfect model, but in Libya it worked in conjunction with allied groups on the ground fighting for independence. If we can target and kill threats in Yemen, then why cannot we use the same technology in Syria?

Goals
I have set myself a goal of trying to write a thoughtful post here once a week. This is the first one. Sadly it really isn't a thoughtful post, but the idea of setting goals and attempting to reach them is. I have set about 50 goals for the next 100 days. Wish me luck.

Psychiatrist Who 'Proved' Gays Can Be Cured Says It Was All a Big Mistake
Psychiatrist Who 'Proved' Gays Can Be Cured Says It Was All a Big Mistake:
I think that gay rights, like the abortion issue, is a discussion going on at national level that is actually two discussions. Each side is having their own debates, and doing little to win over the other side. Does Obama's change make a difference, does this make a difference? Only to people who accepted the idea to begin with. What changes people's minds is knowing someone who is gay, and understanding they are just people.
"I believe I owe the gay community an apology for my study making unproven claims of the efficacy of reparative therapy. I also apologize to any gay person who wasted time and energy undergoing some form of reparative therapy because they believed that I had proven that reparative therapy works with some "highly motivated" individuals."
