Sharia rocks: Gwen Stefani covers up in Malaysia

Sharia rocks: Gwen Stefani covers up in Malaysia

She changed costumes for every song, remaining fully covered as she belted out
tunes such as “The Sweet Escape,” “Rich Girl,” “Wind it Up” and “Hollaback
Girl.” Stefani had promised to dress modestly after the 10,000-member National
Union of Malaysian Muslim Students charged that her skimpy outfits and cheeky
performances clashed with Islamic values. The opposition Pan-Malaysian Islamic
Party also accused her of promoting promiscuity and corrupting the country’s
youth. In an interview with Galaxie, a local entertainment magazine, Stefani
said she had made many changes for Malaysia, calling it a “major
sacrifice.”
“I’ve been in the music industry for 20 years and this is the first time that I’m facing opposition from people who have misunderstood me,” she was quoted as saying.

If they right in this country had made a similar request, and she had abided by it they would be talking about how responsible she was. However, since this concert was in a Muslim country and it was Muslims that she was adapting her show for, she is a dhimmi. She was faced with the choice of having the show and respecting the wishes of the nation she was visiting or not having the show. I don't know that I would expect everyone to make the choice that she made, I can see the argument against it. What I don't see is how she should be slandered for respecting the Muslim culture. If the concert had been in Europe and Asia - then it would be a different issue, but this concert was in a Muslim country.

Gwen Stefani Can't Wait to Get Pregnant Again

Gwen Stefani Can't Wait to Get Pregnant Again

Calling herself "a geeky Orange County girl, a chola girl, a rasta girl and an
English girl – all mixed together," Gwen Stefani has no mixed feelings about one
thing: producing a sibling for her 1-year-old son Kingston.
"Obviously I'm in a race to have another, but I don't want to do it while on tour," the singer,
37, tells InStyle for its September issue (on sale Friday). "But I can't wait to get pregnant again. It's so fun and consuming and romantic."

Gwen actually seems to have something that is rare in Hollywood. That's a happy healthy relationship with her husband and a solid family. I think that another child would be great for her and her family.

Gwen Stefani L.A.M.B High-Heeled Sneakers | Style Crunch

Gwen Stefani L.A.M.B High-Heeled Sneakers Style Crunch

What do you think, love them or hate them... I am thinking of what you would wear them with, and that it might give the impression the person wearing them was always standing on their toes. I don't like them.

Gwen Stefani is Still Breast-feeding – Evil Beet Gossip

Gwen Stefani is Still Breast-feeding – Evil Beet Gossip:

"In a recent interview, the singer/designer admitted that she still breastfeeds
her son, Kingston, who was born in May 2006. “I don’t know when I’m going to
stop breast-feeding,” she says. “I’ll just keep going while I can - like, he’s
getting his teeth, so it is a little bit scary. He’s bitten me a few times.”

I wasn't breast fed, and I am not a womyn, and I haven't had any kids, so I don't know much about this. It does seem there is an age that you need to put them on some solid food, and stop breast feeding. On the other hand, if Britney had breast fed little Sean Preston for longer, then she might not have also had Jayden.

Why is Gwen talking about breast feeding?

Gabby Babble: Madonna and Guy Win as the Best Dressed Couple?

Gabby Babble: Madonna and Guy Win as the Best Dressed Couple?:

"1. Madonna and Guy Ritchie
2. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie
3. David and Victoria Beckham
4. Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale
5. Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher"

Congrats to Madonna, she remains a force in the fashion world over 20 years after her rise to power from the streets of New York. Brad and Angelina are also a good choice, they always look great -as for the rest of the list, well I guess they aren't that many couples in Hollywood. I would have put Courtney Cox and David on there before Gwen and Gavin though.

Snarky Gossip - Akon’s simulated onstage rape has now impacted Gwen Stefani as well!

Snarky Gossip - Akon’s simulated onstage rape has now impacted Gwen Stefani as well!

Gwen Stefani's tour is taking a hit from sponsor Verizon in response to her connection to Akon. Akon was dropped by Verizon after an immorally sexual act during a performance with an underage girl. Stefani is taking a hit because Akon was an opener for her concert.

While I stand firmly behind the actions taken against Akon, his actions deserve stronger punishment than he has gotten. Gwen Stefani on the other hand had no part in the incident, and while they are connected it is in a business way, not one that would allow her to control to content of his show. It seems to me to be an over reaction to punish Stefani, that comes about in part in the atmosphere that is the post Imus world. Corporations are increasingly concerned that content they support will offend someone, and while this can be a good thing, it could lead to some scary over reactions.

Gwen Stefani Talks About Her Weight Struggle - Celebrity Gossip; A Dish Best Served Cold! - Hollywood Backwash!

Gwen Stefani Talks About Her Weight Struggle - Celebrity Gossip; A Dish Best Served Cold! - Hollywood Backwash!

I don't know how I feel about stars talking about their struggles to lose weight. One the one hand you could say that it shows that they are not perfect, and that they have to work for how they look. On the other, if these stars are role models for young girls it is setting the example that you should lose weight if you want to be a success. I could see a young womyn looking at herself and looking at Gwen and thinking that if Gwen needed to lose weight, how much did she need to lose. One thing it does not do is challenge the notion of skinny being successful.
