Crooks and Liars » Ed Schultz on Right Wing Talk Radio…Takes a swipe at Hannity:

"Ed Schultz was on Tucker yesterday to talk about CAP’s right wing hold on
talk radio. Ever since Imus they have been freaking on this subject. Ed
correctly tells guest host Michael Smerconish that it’s not about the ratings,
when Smerconish tries to dismiss the CAP report because the market decides who
is successful in radio. Ed points out to Smerconish that his ratings are better
than Hannity in several markets, but still can’t find more stations to carry
him. Ed argues that it’s an ownership problem"

The debate about talk radio is heating up again. I always thought that it was a simple issue, conservatives listened to talk radio because they spent a lot of time in doors listening to the radio. Either at work where they can listen to radio or at home. On the other hand liberals are not radio listeners, and when they are they want music not news. The medium of radio and the medium of print are very different and the way the message is understood, and absorbed is different. I believe you get more out of a print message than a radio message. You can read it over, read it on your time, take time to think about what you have read. It is also a more individual way of getting the news. Radio is a collective news source, like hanging out with your friends. I could be wrong though.
