California tops list of most endangered rivers

I am not surprised that the Sacramento/San Joaquin river system, which is much more than a river system for the state, would top this list. It is probably one of the most abused and used watersheds in the country.

State and federal authorities are looking at alternative water-management strategies for the river system, which serves 25 million Californians and more than 5 million acres of farmland.
