Momjaya Starring in the Bong Show - TMZ.com
Momjaya Starring in the Bong Show - TMZ.com
Note to all future American Idols, and their families. You should be aware by now that the media, the celebrity media and bloggers mostly, love to trash you. If you are going to be on American Idol you can expect that every little thing in your life is going to be posted on the internet and people will be paying attention. The news that is coming out about Sanjaya's mom being arrested for drugs is just the latest in a long string of examples. To be sure it isn't just American Idol, it is all the reality TV shows. It is as if we refuse to believe that the shows are real until we see that they and their families have the same problems we do.

Sanjaya Expects Busy Future | TIME
Sanjaya Expects Busy Future TIME
So what is next for Sanjaya, could he turn out to be one of the more successful people to come out of the show. While it is true that his singing leaves much to be desired, he has a name and a face that is known all over the world. He can use that image in a number of ways to further his career.
Sanjaya will be around for a while still. He has a live appearance on "Live with Regis and Kelly", the finale of American Idol next month and the Idol tour with the other top 10 winners
Given the nature of his popularity he says that he has already been looking into getting a body guard. I think it says something about our nation that he would feel like he needs a body guard. To be honest I might be feeling much the same way.
In talking about his critics, he said that he tried to take it all in stride and to make it a positive experience. He says that he is a much stronger person after this than when he began. He tells Time that he was shocked by his own staying power, especially in the face of Simon Cowell's increasingly harsh statements.

Bye Sanjaya...
Goodbye-a, Sanjaya. Don’t You Dare Cry-a.
The end of the Sanjaya Express had to come at some point, and I think that while some of us will miss the hair, we are glad that this is the end. Can you image if he had taken the prize, it would be almost as bad as when Ruben Studdard won. Yes, it is true that Sanjaya has offically been voted off the show.
It was a good run, with people attempting to vote your success because of his lack of talent. At the same time womyn were crying over his singing. We really don't know if she was crying because she thought it was good or she thought it was bad. Some people even went on a starvation diet to get him off the show.
In a departing comment Ryan Seacrest says that we will not soon forget Sanjaya. I would be willing to bet this isn't the last we will see of this phenomnon. Now it is a race to see which brand is the first to sign him as a face. The last couple years the second place finisher got more attention that the winner. Could the third place winner get more attention than the top two this year?

Who is voting for Sanjaya?
Why does Sanjaya reign on 'Idol'? (AP)
I don't understand this Sanjaya craze and why I can't get away from it. Ok, I admit if I really tried I could get away from it. However it has taken over every story in the blogs for weeks now. Weeks in blog terms is like years in old news terms. Does he really have any fans, or is this just one big joke.
I have stated before that I think this is a way of Americans expressing their distaste for the show. However wouldn't it be easier to just shut it off. There is a problem with just shutting it off, everyone is watching it, and if you shut it off you are shutting yourself out. Some have suggested that Howard Stern is behind a push to vote for Sanjaya. This is because of a comment he made on that air saying that he wanted Sanjaya to win. There was the short lived rumor that he had called in some help from Indian call centers. Another theory sets the very contestants of the show against the show. It claims that it is the rejected singers that are voting for Sanjaya as pay back.
He does however have some fans. "I like his hairstyles," a 7-year-old girl from Westborough, Mass. Her mom however tells a different story, saying that her daughter thinks that Sanjaya is cute. However according to Yahoo News, only 17 percent of the audience of American Idol is teen or pre-teen.
Maybe it is a clever ploy by the producers of the show to bring in viewers. Viewers who are so interested in talking about it, they ask presidential candidates about him. Hillary Clinton told a gathering recently that it is just like voting for president, "People can vote for whomever they want". (I will save you the detailed comparison that comes to mind)
Whatever it is that is allowing him to hang on, could it get him to the top of the pile at the end of the day? Could it make him the big winner? I think that honestly what is driving this is a little of all these forces working together. I doubt if Sanjaya wins that he will care that he won at least partly due to the votes of people who hate him.

Sanjaya Malakar - You Really Got Me
A flash back to when he made a young girl cry, as opposed to making people cover their ears.
Sanjaya gives us something to talk about...
IT HURTS!!!! IT HURTS!!!!

Could Sanjaya really win American Idol, why not Rubben Studdard did.
I really think that this means that America is starting to view AI as a complete joke. While I am not crossing over into being a fanjaya, I don't think that this is about if he can sing or not. It is about believing that he can't, and making him win anyways. If he does win American Idol, I suspect his career will be no worse than some of the other winners. Like Clay Aiken for example.

WHAT I MISSED.net: KFC Ups Offer to Sanjaya
WHAT I MISSED.net: KFC Ups Offer to Sanjaya
It turns out that free chicken is not enough, KFC is going to sweeten the deal for Sanjaya even more. They are now adding to the deal, $5,000 in cash and a staring role in the next Famous Bowl ad. All Sanjaya has to do to win all this is get a bowl cut for one of his next appearances. This is working out well for KFC either way, just the offer is getting it press. If Sanjaya goes along with this, it will of course get them even more.
