Che Guevara, Fashion Icon of Soapnet? NewsBusters.org:

"“The Fashionista Dairies” have been plastering their logo all over the
internet. TV Guide.com is using the ad campaign as today’s background as well as
Perez Hilton.com, whose site gets over 8 million hits a day. This new show is
one more example of the entertainment industry’s fascination with Communism
chic."

First of all let me say that from what I have seen of the show, it looks like it rocks.I wish I had a TV and I could watch it.

Now let me get on to a point. It is true that it is using the image of a communist leader, but it is using it to promote probably the most capitalistic part of our culture. The whole clothing industry is set on meeting the demands of customers, rich people demand rich clothes and the fashion industry supplies that. The fashion industry feeds into the magazine media industry not only through the ads that appear in Fashion magazines, but the stories and the photos of the stars that are shot for those magazines. The image is being used in such a way that it should not anger supporters of capitalism, it should anger supporters of communism.
