"Frequent candidate Alan Keyes announced on Friday that he has filed a statement
of candidacy for president with the Federal Election Commission. Keyes, a former
diplomat in the Reagan administration, ran for senator from Maryland in 1988 and
1992, for president in 1996 and 2000, and for senator from Illinois in 2004."
The only thing I know about Keyes is that he is known for his socially conservative stand on the issues. He was in a debate with Obama earlier in the season, in which he was pushing for laws against gay marriage and Obama was defending the rights of gays. Yes, and he is African American. Could that factor draw votes away from Obama?
