Warrants issued in Darfur conflict - Los Angeles Times

Warrants issued in Darfur conflict - Los Angeles Times

In what seems to me to be a pointless exercise the UN has issued arrest warrants for suspects in connection with genocide crimes in Darfur. The UN is acting almost like Democrats by sending out warrants to a country that will not respond to them. The warrants are for a government minister and a former militia leader. Sudanese officials have responded, saying that they would not hand the pair over to face war crimes and crimes against humynity. The crimes in question are in relation to the murder of more than 200,000 people and the displacement of 2 million. The genocide is being carried out by militia groups that are widely believed to be supported by the government of Sudan. Sudanese officials deny assisting the groups commonly known as Janjaweed.
