John Couey to Be Sentenced for Murdering Jessica Lunsford
INVERNESS, Fla. — The man convicted of kidnapping and raping 9-year-old Jessica
Lunsford is scheduled to be sentenced today.
According to a recorded jailhouse conversation, John Couey expects to be sentenced to death.
Romney Hedges His Bets on Abortion
Abortion has always been a divisive issue for the GOP so you can't blame Mitt
Romney for wanting it both ways. But after saying this week he would allow
individual states to keep abortion legal - just two weeks after stressing his
support for a constitutional amendment to ban the procedure nationwide - the
Washington Post thinks he should make his mind up.
How does he look at himself in the mirror in the morning knowing that he has no integrity? How can he be changing his stand on abortion again?
2 Children Die of Heat in Parked Cars in Separate Cases
ST. LOUIS — A 7-month-old infant was found dead in the heat of a parked car
Thursday near the Washington University School of Medicine, authorities said.
Hours later, a 2-year-old toddler was found dead in a vehicle in a suburb of
Cincinnati.
How long does it take to look in the back seat and make sure your baby isn't in the car? I just don't understand how these things can happen.
The Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department has issued a statement on Nicole Richie’s eighty-two minute jail surrender and release on Thursday.
“On August 23, 2007 at 3:15 p.m., Miss Nicole Camille Richie reported to Century Regional Detention Facility to surrender herself following a July 27 arrest. She was sentenced to serve 96 hours in County Jail. Miss Richie was accompanied by her attorney, SHAWN CHAPMAN HOLLEY and her boyfriend, JOEL MADDEN. She was booked and processed into the jail system. Miss Richie’s demeanor was cooperative during the process. Based on her sentence, and the federal court guidelines, Miss Richie was released at 4:37 p.m. today.”
Christiane Imamwhore Unveiled
Amanpour, whose father is a Muslim Iranian, her mother British, and who spent
the first eleven years of her life in Teheran, set out to portray Jews as
religiously driven terrorists, illegal land-grabbers, and fat-cat American
lobbyists with duel loyalties.
This is a dirty unfair attack on her character. I watched the show myself - just the one on Christianity I missed the others. It presented Christians as being strong and following in their beliefs. It talked about groups that opposed them but spent most of the time talking to believers, understanding their beliefs and even expressing empathy at times. The show appeared to be completely accurate and fair and balanced.
A Palestinian Star is Born
But for me, the article was more about an American media that has largely spun
out of control in its warped determination to make the bad guys and gals of the
world seem as if they are just like us - with just a little different outlook,
that's all. Also, I was reminded yet again of the media's efforts to sweep under
the rug the true intentions of the Muslim terrorists who threaten the U.S. and
our allies.
While I think it is important to understand what makes us different, it is also important to understand what we share as humyns. In the end we want many of the same things from live, and understanding that can sometimes help us manage our differences - not ignore them.
Libs/Cons and Me.
1. Christians. Believing Christians are scary folks, sort of proto-fascists, who would kill or convert us all to their strange and scary beliefs if they had the chance.
I find this staggeringly ignorant. It implies, among other things, that nothing worthwhile was accomplished in Western Civilization before, let's say, the Sixties. (Well, whatever, dude... )
There is reason to fear the amount of control that some Christians appear to want to place on our lives and our culture. There is a difference between saying that something is wrong for you and to avoid it - and something is wrong for everyone and to force your ideas on others. It is true that religion has done much for our culture though, and it is a solid point that it is under-estimated how much it has done by some groups on the left.
2. Jews. Peaceful Orthodox Jews are just as bad as head-chopping Islamic fascists. Because they're all fundamentalists! (No kidding.)
There are some Jews that are just as violent and extreme as some Muslims.
3. Capitalism. Corporations are evil. Capitalism murders just as many people as Stalin and Pol Pot did. Every political system kills millions of people. (The mind reels.)
Any time a system is defended for its own sake and not for the ideas of the system it will lead to the abuse of power and humy rights. There is nothing in Marxist logic or Capitalist logic that proclaims that people must be abused or killed. It is the people who commit these crimes who should be blamed for these crimes.
4. Tolerance. You can't trust other ethnic groups, and even your own. One liberal friend can't stand Russians, Turks, and Poles. Another is deeply suspicious of Southerners and Midwesterners, considering them guilty until proven innocent. Another is suspicious of Blacks; however, a Black liberal I know thinks that Whites are "ice people." A very radical friend thinks that hippies are fascists. (Honest). This is just a sampling of liberal tolerance and openmindedness.
This is not liberal open mindedness, most people are not 100% conservative or 100% liberal so it isn't fair to proclaim that everything that a liberal friend says is a liberal idea. On a side note, these fears are sadly part of humyn nature - we fear what we do not know and understand.
5. America. Americans are contemptible. Europeans are wonderful. (Facts are irrelevant).
I take issue with this as well, people are people and there is little difference between nations and races, much less than what people would believe. Blind hatred of your own country which this appears to be, is no better than blind patriotism in my book. (At least blind patriotism is constructive)
6. Genocide. The US murdered just as many Native Americans as the Nazis killed Jews. Oh, and the Spanish Inquisition killed 9 million women. (Both bizarre, historically; no respectable historian agrees, but it's in the minds of your neighbors. They are still allowed to vote.)
I agree this is nuts, we have to stop reliving the crimes of history.
7. Mind-reading. Liberals can read the minds of conservatives, without, of course, bothering to read anything conservatives have written, or even talking to them. Many libs are firmly convinced (without a shred of evidence, of course), that conservatives hate Blacks, Jews, Gays, and Women. It does not seem to occur to my friends that it's difficult to read other people's minds; or that conservatives might actually be far more tolerant than liberal race demagogues, judging by their own words.
Just as many Conservatives think that Liberals hate God, Family and Church.
9. Israel. Israel is a pretty bad and nasty place. This is from a very liberal friend with many Jewish friends.
It is hard to pick a horse in that race, they are both scandalised and abusive and violent, maybe not equally but I don't have enough knowledge to sepperate them.
10. Militarism. Israelis are "militaristic," according to a very liberal Jewish professor. This is the first time I realized that defending your country against murderous assaults on innocent civilians is "militaristic." I thought militarism was the Prussians in World War One shouting "Hoch! Hoch!" while the Kaiser's troops went goose-stepping by with pointy-headed helmets and fixed bayonets. No such thing. Militarism = self-defense. Amazing.
It is true that much of their militarism is in response to the violence around them. The first thing that happened after the nation was created - was that it was invaded by all of its neighbors.
11. Population. The world has far too many people, and (hint, hint) it would be a lot better if a lot of them died or were never born.
Population is declining in the modern world, and beginning to level off in the developing nations.
12. News vs. propaganda. Any news source other than the mainstream media is right-wing propaganda. Indeed, anything suggesting that liberals are less than 100 percent right is right-wing propaganda. This comes from a friend who engages in constant self-censorship, who becomes visibly agitated when his beliefs are gently questioned.
Dito for conservatives.
13. Dictators. Stalin was not so bad. Yes, he killed millions in the Gulag, but so did the United States. As for Castro, he is a great and wonderful hero. So is Hugo Chavez. However, Augusto Pinochet was a bad, bad guy. (Bizarre beyond belief.)
Agreed, the left is certainly inconsisten in who it supports and who it doesn't.
13. Republicans. Assassinating Republicans is a pretty good idea, as long as somebody else does it. (From a prominent liberal community leader.)
Killing is never an acceptable form of political exchange.
15. The Supremes. Justice Clarence Thomas is a dunce.
Doubt it...
16. War. War would go away if just Republicans stopped stirring it up.
Ohh like the one in Bosnia?
17. Criticism. Thinking negative thoughts about people is the source of violence in the world.
There is a grain of truth to this, in most cases the violent thought preceds the violent deed - but most negative thoughts do not lead to negative deeds.
18. Relativism. Reality is only a social agreement. There's no such thing.
Much of what we call reality is a social agreement - but not all.
19. GlobWarm. Human-caused global warming is probably a lie, but it's a useful lie. (I swear).
I think it is a danger, but regardless there are steps that we should be taking.
Ari Fleischer didn't even know the name of the Iraq vet in his ad
Rieckhoff described it as part of “a problematic trend” that Freedom’s Watch is
using the soldier’s “personal story” as “a backdrop for political rhetoric”
I think that this could be said about both sides in this very heated debate. As far as not knowing the name, there are a lot of people involved in these things - I could understand how he wouldn't know everyones name.
Director of National Intelligence McConnell: Debating FISA in Congress will kill Americans
Director of National Intelligence McConnell: Debating FISA in Congress will kill Americans
Well, one of the things you do is you talk to reporters. And you give them the
facts the best you can. Now part of this is a classified world. The fact we’re
doing it this way means that some Americans are going to die, because we do this
mission unknown to the bad guys because they’re using a process that we can
exploit and the more we talk about it, the more they will go with an alternative
means and when they go to an alternative means, remember what I said, a
significant portion of what we do, this is not just threats against the United
States, this is war in Afghanistan and Iraq.
The American system is all about balance and there must be some point of balance between meeting the needs of a democratic government that can check the power of the executive to prevent abuse and protect resources and tactics so that they are effective. This is probably the most important debate we can be having as a nation right now, and it needs to be a public debate. We need to think about this as a society, what we value more - our right to know and limit government power or the security of the nation and the lives of those that could be lost by information being released.
North Carolina: former "Christian" group leader pleads guilty to solicitation
Former NC lawmaker, retired Baptist minister -- and now-former Christian Action
League president -- Coy C. Privette pleaded guilty yesterday to six counts of
aiding and abetting prostitution. He has to perform 48 hours of community
service and receive counseling.
Everyone makes mistakes, but when you are someone who is going to stand up in public and declare that there is a problem with morality in this country, you should expect more from yourself and so should the public.
Fox calls off next month's Democratic debate
Fox News has canceled a debate of Democratic presidential candidates next month
after several candidates dropped out because they said the cable news network
would not provide a fair forum, the Associated Press reports. Organizers hope to
reschedule the debate.
I think that this is a clear mistake by the democrats, they are passing up a chance to talk to an audience that they might not reach through other outlets. In doing so, they are not creating their own image in these peoples minds, but allowing others to create the Democrat image for them.
Reid and Pelosi on the NIE: Bush's "surge" failed. We need a new plan for Iraq. Now.
Every day that we continue to stick to the President's flawed strategy is a day
that America is not as secure as it could be. As the intelligence community
reported in another NIE just weeks ago, America's attention is distracted from
Osama Bin Laden and Al Qaeda, which has regenerated its capacity to its pre-9/11
levels. That is why it is so essential that this September, Republicans join
with Democrats to change course in Iraq and work to restore our nation's
security.
The surge was never about political success, it was about meeting the military challenges in Iraq, to create space for their to be a political solution. There is not success in terms of a stable government being in place. However I don't think that this is a total failure either. Just a couple weeks ago, Maliki was able to take a trip to Tikrit to visit a Sunni leader. I don't think that this visit could have taken place without the surge to create the security to enable Maliki to travel.
Foley stonewalling over access to Congressional computer
Mark Foley is on the hot seat because investigators want a peek at the former
congressman's computer. Under Florida law, the age of consent is 18, and some of
Foley's ham-handed, lurid online IM pickup lines to pages would be considered a
crime if the intent was to seduce the minor. The problem is that neither Foley
nor the House will allow access to the computers. (CF News):
I would think that they could track down the receivers of those messages and get the information from that end. If they don't know who the receivers are, how do they know if they are under age or not. While I am talking about the subject of age, it seems like a big job - to be in the capital, working in the government, when you aren't even an adult yet. It seems to lend itself to all manner of troubles.
As far as a solution to this. I presume that the issue is about congressional information in the computer that they would not want to share with law enforcement (part of the executive branch) - perhaps a congressional body could be put together to search the computer and hand over any relevant information.
Iraq Militias Make Power Grab by Grabbing Power
Iraq Militias Make Power Grab by Grabbing Power
Iraq’s electricity minister said yesterday that Iraq militias are increasingly
in control of the out of date switching stations that channel electricity around
Iraq, which enhances the existing electricity problems in Baghdad and the rest
of the country.
I think the best way to deal with this, is first you form the government with a shared balance of power. Then you state that all forces other than the official military are illegal. Address the people, and tell them that forces that are working for their own interests and not that of Iraq as a nation are the enemies of Iraq and will be punished. Then do it.
Newark Executions Have MS-13 Written All Over Them
Michelle Malkin does a tremendous roundup of news reports from the New York metro region over the past 24 hours, which details not only the horrors inflicted by the six suspects in the brutal triple slaying, but that the violent signature of MS-13 is written all over these crimes. Expect sexual assault charges to be included in the
criminal complaints against the six.
I have been stating that I didn't think that this was an immigration issue - and now I think I was wrong. The reason I am changing my tune is because of the involvement of the gang MS-13, which is a gang among illegal immigrants. Not all illegal immigrants are in the gang, but that is the base where it gets its support. If this was something that was done by this gang, it changes the nature of the crime and of the debate. An act of violence is an act of violence, and that is all I thought it was at first. An act of gang violence is something that needs to be discussed and part of that discussion would be the community that supported the gang. The community that supports this gang is illegal immigrants from Mexico and South America, which means that immigration is a topic that is going to have to be addressed openly in this case. In allowing them to break the law so openly by being here, are we inviting them to break other laws as well? A friend of mine pointed out that every law that goes un-enforced weakens every other law, because once you break the law and get away with it you lose your fear of the justice system.
Florida Prison Halts Kosher Meals for Jewish Inmates, Halal Meals for Muslims
The Corrections Department has ended the Jewish Dietary Accommodation Program, which provided kosher meals to not only Jews, but to Muslims as well, because the state prison system does not offer halal food. Cost — and fairness — were cited as factors.
"We have 100 faiths represented by DOC inmates, so it would be impossible to satisfy everyone's preferences and unfair to do it for one group and not another," agency spokeswoman Gretl Plessinger said. "We just have to look at what our mission is and what's best for our overall department and the overall population of inmates in our system instead of a smaller group."
The department has suspended use of pork products in an attempt to appease religious adherents and will continue to serve vegetarian and vegan meals. It said many Jews and Muslims could choose the vegan option, which is free of any animal products, to adhere to their faiths.
I was concerned when I first saw this about the rights the people would have to their diets. The department makes a good argument for its position on the issue though. It would be very hard to meet the demands of every group that is in prison, and meeting the needs of one sets the standard for others. It sounds like they are attempting a middle ground, by serving vegetarian and vegan foods. It should be remembered that one these people are in jail because they broke the law, and that their food is being paid for by tax payers.
Which brings me to an idea that I have. The prisoners work in jail, maybe they could be offered slightly better meals - and they could pay a little extra with the money that they are making from their prison work.
Victoria Beckham Hires Extra Bodyguards
Who can blame her! Victoria Beckham has hired three extra bodyguards after a
fan crept past security and reached David’s hotel room at the Kind Edward Hotel
in Toronto where he was staying.
I guess it isn't all the easy to be Victoria after all. I think that is something that would be hard for me if I were a star. Finding a way to deal with the security, and the privacy and the fans and the everything at once.
Mel Gibson Court Update
Actor MEL GIBSON was not required to be in court today for a hearing on the
status of his probation for a DUI arrest in July 2006, which made headlines last
summer as the actor made anti-Semitic and sexist comments to the arresting
officers.
Oh look the god father of DUI's was in court today also. I can imagine why they didn't want him and his nuttiness to show up.
A Statement from Lindsay Lohan
“It is clear to me that my life has become completely unmanageable because I am
addicted to alcohol and drugs.Recently, I relapsed and did things for which
I am ashamed. I broke the law, and today I took responsibility by pleading
guilty to the charges in my case. No matter what I said when I was under the
influence on the day I was arrested, I am not blaming anyone else for my conduct
other than myself. I thank God I did not injure others. I easily could
have.
I very much want to be healthy and gain control of my life and career
and have asked for medical help in doing so. I am taking these steps to improve
my life. Luckily, I am not alone in my daily struggle and I know that people
like me have succeeded. Maybe with time it will become easier. I hope so.”
I hope she means this.
Nicole Out Of The Clink!
According to TMZ, Nicole Richie just checked herself out of prison. How long was
she there? 82 minutes! Nic arrived at Lynwood at 3:15 p.m. and left at 4:37.
"She was assigned to a cell for only 35 minutes," according to the official
website of the L.A. Sheriff's Department. And apparently, this was all routine
and in accordance to normal operating rules.
Yeah, maybe that is why it wasn't such a big deal, it is already over.
Nicole Richie Goes To Jail!
The Insider/ET are reporting that Nicole Richie has checked herself into Paris
Hilton's old haunt at Lynwood to begin serving her 4-day sentence. Nicole was
busted for driving under the influence last December. Homegirl was driving on
the wrong side of the highway. She admitted to smoking weed and taking Vicodin
for "cramps."
Why is this so less exciting than when Paris went to jail. Is it because it has been done and it feels like we have been here before? Is it because she is only going to be in for one day? Oh well, she is in jail now - poor poor Nicole. Whatever.
Lindsay Lohan’s Sister, Ali, Crashes Car After Sneaking Out
While Lindsay Lohan made out like a bandit in LA courts, her sister Ali Lohan
was busy escaping from the Lohan family house and crashing White Oprah’s car.
Nassau County police will not give any official details of the accident.
Who taught you how to drive girl... oh wait I think I know. Honestly though the scary part is that she is sneaking out to be with boys. Sounds like Dina is about to lose control of this one too.
Lindsay Lohan Sentenced To Jail; Says 'I Am Addicted To Drugs & Alcohol'
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (August 23, 2007) – Lindsay Lohan is headed to
jail.Lohan reached a plea deal on Thursday and will spend one day behind
bars, plus 10 days of community service and must complete a drug treatment
program, Access Hollywood has learned.
One day in jail and 10 hours of community service? I hope that this isn't a mistake and that she doesn't get the idea that what she did was a serious mistake. She is just lucky that no one got hurt or killed in that chase of hers.
Blogging the Qur’an: Sura 3, “The Family of Imran,” verses 121-200
Blogging the Qur’an: Sura 3, “The Family of ImraVerse
Verse 121 begins a discussion of lessons of the Battle of Uhud and the Battle of
Badr. At Badr in 624, the Muslims overcame great odds to defeat the pagan
Quraysh tribe of Mecca; in a return engagement at Uhud the following year, the
pagans defeated the Muslims, and Muhammad was slightly wounded. Allah reminds
Muhammad that when he and the Muslims set out for the battle at Uhud, two groups
of Muslims almost deserted. They shouldn’t have been afraid, for “Allah was
their protector,” and the believers should trust in him (v. 122). After all,
when the Muslims were a “contemptible little force” (v. 123) at Badr, Allah
granted them victory. According to Islamic tradition, 313 Muslims defeated a
much larger force at Badr, because Allah sent down three thousand angels to
fight alongside the Muslims” (v. 124). This is one reason why superior American
military might doesn’t overawe jihadists today.
One of the main forces in Iraq is named after this battle where the Muslims won a victory though they were out numbered. The reason that we cannot defeat them with force, is that their faith is stronger than our force.
Britney Spears London-Bound?
According to OK!, Britney Spears is considering fleeing to London in an effort
to keep from losing her two sons in a custody battle with ex-husband Kevin Federline. A source told the magazine Britney feels leaving LA for London is her “only hope” of keeping her children.
Would Britney really flee the country to avoid giving the kids to Kevin. I imagine that I might do something like that for my kids, if I had any. It would make it hard for Kevin to ever see the kids or to enforce the custody agreement. It would be hard on the boys to be taken away from their father.
EXCLUSIVE: Vladimir Putin’s Russian Cosmo Cover
I don't think I could add to this if I wanted to... at least it isn't a picture of Bush - can you imagine.
Liev Schreiber And Naomi Watts Get Into It With Paparazzi
Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber got into a bit of a scuffle with the paparazzi
after photographers got too close to their baby boy, Alexander. The trio had
gone out for dinner at Greek restaurant Taverna Tony’s, when the paparazzi when
a little too far in trying to get a picture of the baby.
You should watch out for this guy, he is well known for playing the role of a killer in one movie and an arguably dirty cop in a TV show. Yeah he would scare me. From the video I have seen though, he was really out of line, they were not that close to him or the child.
BREAKING: Lindsay Lohan Avoids Felony Charges
The Los Angeles D.A. has stated that Lindsay Lohan will be charged with seven
misdemeanors, but that the young actress will not be charged with a single
felony. At the Beverly Hills Courthouse, the D.A. stated that the appearance of
cocaine on Lohan's person "were below the .05 grams required by office policy
for felony filing," and the troubled starlet avoided the dreaded felony charge.
Why do I get the feeling that she is waiting for the moment she can talk to those guys from the car. She is just waiting to burst out with an "I TOLD YOU SO BITCHES". Honestly though this is good news, I hope that this is a real change in her life. The other charges seem to have gone well for her too, all drug charges have been dropped from both cases.
Lindsay Lohan: From Hollywood Star to Supermarket Checkout Girl
Lindsay Lohan: From Hollywood Star to Supermarket Checkout Girl
Believe or not, as part of Lindsay Lohan's rehab road to recovery, the actress
is picking up shifts at a local market in Utah. According to the new issue of
OK!, Lindsay will be working at Smith's supermarket, which is close to the
Cirque Lodge detox center in Sundance. The mag says that all of Lindsay's big
blue collar earnings will go, of course, to charity.
This could help her out in a future role I'll bet. She has really been looking a lot better lately, if she works hard at the grocery store maybe she can save up enough money to take a long weekend and shoot a commercial.
Here Comes Trouble
Surprisingly enough Dreamboat Doherty was not arrested last night! But...police
are investigating a possible assault by Pete on a female photographer named Cath
Mead. Cath claims Pete busted her camera and left her bruised and battered with
some of her hair missing.
While claims that Pete has again been arrested for drugs are turning out to be false. It has turned out that he is being investigated in an incident with a photographer. Reportedly he beat down a female photographer near his friends home.
Nobody Has To Know
Adrian claims that he's spending so much time with her, because he's "doing a
documentary on the paparazzi." Witnesses say that the two have been caught
"canoodling" on several occassions.
If you are making a documentary about paparazzi, Paris Hilton is the person you want to hang out with. It has been said that at her birthday a couple years back she broke the record for the most paparazzi in one place. They could make a cute couple.
Angelina's Liver In Grave Danger
A friend of Brad's said that he "convinced Angelina to go see a doctor because
he was afraid something was very wrong with her. She doesn't have much of an
appetite and is eating very little. Tests were run and Brad's family were led to
believe that her illness might be something like hepatitis, but since then he's
clammed up, I think he knows what's wrong, but he's keeping it from people."
I truly hope that she isn't sick, this is probably another rumor that goes around about her all the time, but she has been looking unhealthy lately.
Lindsay Lohan Cirque Lodge Rehab Drug Use
“Lindsay got called into the director’s office on August 15 and was questioned
about drugs,” says the source. “When ordered to take a drug test, she
reluctantly complied but screamed and cursed at the medical director before
storming out the room. She was told that if she couldn’t conform to the program
she’d have to leave.”
I really hope that these rumors are not true. At this point I think that people who come to the press with a story about Lindsay doing well aren't worth as much as someone who is willing to say that she is doing poorly - regardless of the truth.
Jenna Jameson removed her tatas.
Adult film star Jenna Jameson has decided to retire from adult filmmaking, and
that’s not all she’s left behind. On August 1, Jameson visited Beverly Hills
plastic surgeon Garth Fisher to have her breast implants removed.
But this is not the last we will hear about her, she is going from porn to fashion. Someone who is not known for wearing clothes, may not be the best person to design them.
Why Can't K-Fed's Team Find Britney's Former Manager?
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (August 22, 2007) - As Kevin Federline’s defense team plots their next move in the custody battle with Britney Spears, one potential target happens to be where no one can find him.
In a phone call with Access Hollywood’s Billy Bush today, Brit’s former longtime manager Larry Rudolph
(pictured in November 2006 with Britney) revealed he is a long way from home where the folks serving the subpoenas can’t find him.
Looks like someone has been able to hide from Kevin lawyers at least for now. My guess is that he is some where in Mexico.
Mexican Senate sides with mom deported from USA
MEXICO CITY (AP) — A Mexican Senate committee passed a measure Wednesday urging
President Felipe Calderon to send a diplomatic note to the United States
protesting the deportation of an illegal migrant who took refuge in a Chicago
church for a year.
Why does it seem like the most important thing for the Mexican government is to get their people out of the country and keep them out. It is almost as if they are trying to unload their poor people on America.
Fox News Unfair? Dennis Kucinich Complains About ABC News
* Congressman Kucinich was apparently deliberately cropped out of a "Politics Page" photo of the candidates.
* Sometime Monday afternoon, after Congressman Kucinich took a commanding lead in ABC's own on-line "Who won the Democratic debate" survey, the survey was dropped from prominence on the website.
* ABC News has not officially reported the results of its online survey.
* After the results of that survey showed Congressman Kucinich winning handily, ABC News, sometime Monday afternoon, replaced the original survey with a second survey asking "Who is winning the Democratic debate?"
* During the early voting Monday afternoon and evening, U.S. Senator Barack Obama was in the lead. By sometime late Monday or early Tuesday morning, Congressman Kucinich regained the lead by a wide margin in this second survey.
* Sometime Tuesday morning, ABC News apparently dropped the second survey from prominence or killed it entirely.
* AND, as every viewer of the nationally televised Sunday Presidential forum is aware, Congressman Kucinich was not given an opportunity to answer a question from moderator George Stephanopoulos until
28 minutes into the program.
Appears that at least one Democratic candidate is concerned that he is not getting fair treatment from ABC. What do you think? In looking at it, it could be that the data that the site had on the poll showed an irregularity - like one IP address that cast more than one vote. The rest of it, could be a intention to cut him out of the debate or it could be part of being in a crowded field and not scoring high in the polls.
Timberlake and Mike Myers Doing Sports Comedy
Justin will play a pro hockey player in the movie, which is set in the diverse
worlds of Indian spiritualism and professional ice hockey. Mike plays an
American left outside an Indian ashram and raised by gurus, who comes to the
U.S. as an adult teacher, hoping to spread his message of self-help and love.
Just the thought of Justin and Mike in a movie together sounds like it will be funny to me. I haven't seen any of Justin's movies - so when I say that it sounds funny, I don't mean it in the he is such a great actor movie. I doubt he can act, but you don't really act in comedies so that is ok.
Jessica Isn't Ready To Cash Out Yet
Jessica Isn't Ready To Cash Out Yet
Despite those rumors that Jessica and Cash were done for good, they were looking
pretty cozy in the Pacific Palisades yesterday. In fact, they looked like a
picture perfect couple as they enjoyed their long walk on the beach with their
arms around each other.
I don't know much about this young couple so I don't have that much to add to this story, they have been together for a while, and that in itself makes me want to root for people sometimes.
