It’s Tough Being Lindsay Lohan According To Her Lawyer

It’s Tough Being Lindsay Lohan According To Her Lawyer:

"“This just goes to show how hard it is to be Lindsay Lohan, who’s even denied
her privacy in the sacred confines of a ladies’-room stall and then must fend
off the slings and arrows of false allegation.”"

A statement released by Lohan's lawyer.

Romney: Sharpton remark on faith was bigoted - CNN.com

Romney: Sharpton remark on faith was bigoted - CNN.com:

"NEW YORK (CNN) -- Civil rights activist Al Sharpton, who led the charge to have
radio host Don Imus fired for making racially insensitive remarks, is now under
fire for a comment about Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney's Mormon
faith."

If we are to play by Shapton's play book, the way he played the game with Imus was it didn't matter how Imus talked about the comment he made. What was important was the way others perceived the comment that was made. In the case of Imus it didn't even matter that the womyn themselves weren't as offended as he was.

If we are to play by those rules, then the statement that he made about Romney's faith is bigoted. Romney has called the statements misguided. When asked about the comment, and if he felt like Shaprton was bigoted he replied, "I don't know Rev. Sharpton. I doubt he is personally such a thing. But the comment was a comment which could be described as a bigoted comment."

This is far more grace than was awarded to Imus who was called every name in the book for his slip of the tongue. Al Sharpton is bigoted, ironically enough probably in the same way that it has been said that Imus was. Al Sharpton is bigoted against anyone who isn't him, or supporting him.

"Jessica Simpson should not be darker than Eva Longoria. Eva naturally has
a hot Latina thing going on but Jess is starting to look like George Hamilton.
How much fake tan do you have to put on to look this orange? Somebody should
tell Jess that you can either darken your hair or your skin…not both."

Which one of these womyn are of Latin descent?

They really are a cute couple, it is a shame that Hollywood couples have such a low success rate. If I had to put money on the success of this relationship I would give it six to nine months.

Anyone want to put money on how long Court TV has before it is completely dead. I am waiting to hear that Beth Karas has left and turned the lights out behind her.

know about it. He lit up a cigarette and said he guessed you have to head to the

While it is true that it takes trash to know trash, there is a good point in what he is saying. Everyone will tell you that when you are trying to change your life, a relationship should wait. A relationship with someone else coming out of rehab, while on the surface of it sounds like a positive thing, more often than not results in trouble. Britney should be focused on her career and her kids and take a break from dating for a while. Go towards the light like the lady told you Brit.

"May 9, 2007 I would love to blame outsourcing. I would love to agree with CNN's Lou Dobbs that by exporting
jobs to India, greedy American corporations are killing independent businesses.
I could say this is exactly what happened to me, that it explains why I lost my
father's life savings, my company, $4 million and my entrepreneurial American
dream. I could take comfort in the fact that outsourcing swept me away in its
capitalistic tide, and that there was nothing I could do about it. But this is
not what I believe. And these are not the lessons I learned. The truth about
America's small businesses in today's global market is a harder and more
indelible one, it contains seeds of hope, and this is the story I want to tell.
"

If you want to understand globalization, give this a read. It is one of the few things I have enjoyed reading from beginning to end lately.

"Lindsay Lohan looked pretty at the premiere of her new movie Georgia Rule, in
which she plays rebellious teenager Rachel who screams, swears, drinks and is
uncontrollable. Must have been easy to play. I’m actually quite looking forward
to seeing this movie, I have heard good things, despite Lohan being in it."

From watching the preview it looks like a good movie. Everyone who works with Lohan talks about what a good actress she is, which is what makes her personal problems bad. Not that the personal problems of back actresses, like Jessica Simpson, aren't bad.

TheHill.com - Pelosi threat to sue Bush over Iraq bill:

"House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) is threatening to take President Bush to
court if he issues a signing statement as a way of sidestepping a carefully
crafted compromise Iraq war spending bill. "

Is this legal?

I speak only for myself as an American, but I think it is high time that both parties end their cheap gotcha politics with each other and work on solving the issues. Does Pelosi think for a moment that a move like this is going to do anything more than divide the nation? Is anyone blind enough to think that an action like this would be taken to help the troops, as opposed to scoring points for the democrats in the fall.

The American government is failing us, and it is time for a change. That change needs to come from the ground. The districts are divided in such a way that each party is driven to the extreme of their party to get votes. The more extreme one party goes to gain votes, the more extreme the other party goes to respond. I think it is instructive to understand how much of this politics comes out of the house, as opposed to the Senate. Senators who have to run for state wide offices are more likely to have to appeal to both parties.

"Valleywag is reporting that MySpace (NWS) has purchased Photobucket, the
photo and video hosting service that has long been the giant social network’s
leading 3rd party infrastructure provider."

It was once said that the path to success on the internet was to create a site that would draw a lot of traffic and then to make money with ads. However, it went on that the path to success has changed, now the path to success is to create a site and hope that one of the growing players on the internet buys it and gives you a high paying job. The list of such sites is almost endless, looking back to PayPal being purchased by E-Bay, to the most recent purchase of YouTube by Google.

It would appear the newest site to fall to this trend is Photobucket, which is rumored to being purchased by MySpace. MySpace of course is owned by News Corp., a company set on expanding its role on the internet.

Brad & Angelina In Another Scary Paparazzi Incident | POPSUGAR - Celebrity Gossip & News.

Brad & Angelina In Another Scary Paparazzi Incident POPSUGAR - Celebrity Gossip & News.:

"Brad Pitt, still holding strong in his fedora, paid a visit to the US Embassy
in Prague this week. We don't see any of his little ones in tow, and after
another frightening incident over the weekend, I can't say I blame him.
According to Us, the Jolie-Pitts were enjoying a quiet Saturday night at home
when they noticed a photographer snapping photos through the window of Angelina
bathing the children. Understandably shaken, Angelina was described by a source,
'She was livid. Angelina felt so sick and so violated, she was shouting and
crying and shaking.' "

This is a sick violation of any ones rights to privacy. That is coming from a person who thinks that privacy as it has been understood is dead. The taking of anyone bathing is questionable, however taking pictures of children bathing is not only questionable on the ground of privacy but decency. I would be inflamed with anger if I thought that pictures of my children were being sold as porn on the internet - and so was Angelina.

I love the pictures of the celebrities as much as the next person - well to be honest maybe more than the next person. However pictures of this nature clearly cross the line of what is acceptable. It is all the more of a concern because those pictures would not be published by any print magazine, any photographer knows that. When the pictures were being taken, what was the object of even taking them.

I am ready to face the consequences of violating

I will not be treated worse.'"

In an attempt to save some public face against not only the charges that have been set against her, but also the image that the press has been giving the world of her Paris Hilton released this statement. In it she proclaims to not be above the law, however she certainly does act like the law does not apply to her. While I have a degree of respect for Hilton, that does not mean that I will turn a blind eye to her faults. One of her biggest is that she has the rich persons lack of respect for others and for the laws.

Dina Still Clinging to Lindsay's Fame | POPSUGAR - Celebrity Gossip & News.

Dina Still Clinging to Lindsay's Fame POPSUGAR - Celebrity Gossip & News.:

"Dina Lohan graced the red carpet of Georgia Rule last night, but not just
as a guest of her daughter. She was there working as a special correspondent for
Entertainment Tonight, despite little experience in the field."

Is Ma Lohan riding her little Lohan's coat tails to undeserved fame? I find myself wondering not only about the position that she was given for this event - for no other apparent reason that her connection to her daughter, but who didn't get it. Frankly covering your own childs movie premier is like covering the company of the man you are having an affair with (yes that means you Maria).

I wonder as a journalism student if there may be someone who has gone through the steps, taken the classes and done the internship to be a journalist, that got bumped. This isn't about weather Dina Lohan is capable of performing the job or not, but a question of she has really done enough of the work that many other have done, to deserve the job. I don't begrudge her all the fame in the world for being the mother of a movie star. Let her walk the red carpet, let her into the VIP room of every club in town, but must we hand over everything to these stars and their hungy egos?
