I’m Not Obsessed: Ben Affleck, Jennifer Garner, And Violet Go To A Farmers Market

"I just have to point out what good parents Jen and Ben are. Not only because
they are so affectionate and loving, but because of how they handle all the
photographers. You NEVER see Jennifer Garner yelling, hitting, kicking, or even
giving the paparazzi an evil look when she has Violet with her. I think that’s
why Violet always looks so calm. Because if mommy’s happy, baby’s happy."

They get as much media as anyone, and they do a great job of keeping their cool about it. I have to say that I don't know how well I could handle the cameras on me all the time. Adding to the above comment, you can always see how caring they are with her. She is one cute and lucky girl.

I’m Not Obsessed: Kelly Clarkson Loves Those Cookies

"Kelly Clarkson admitted during an USA Weekend interview that she once
tried a marijuana cookie while visiting Amsterdam. Since her visit, she has
remained “oregano-free”. She also went onto say that she has never tried any
drugs (besides that cookie) and would never consider it."

Shame shame shame... Ok honestly though, this is a tempest in a tea pot, its not like she is a pothead = like Paris Hilton. She tried some pot brownies, move on, there is nothing to see here. Of course it does add a little more meaning to how she plans on breaking away.

Britney's Got Legs, But Doesn't Yet Quite Know How to Use 'Em

"Personally, I think that Britney's bod is looking pretty toned in thesepics.
She's a mother of two, for crying out loud. But, I just don't know why
sheinsists on wearing such wacky outfits. I don't quite understand the
"formalhalf-shirt" look. I can see her getting ready in the morning, looking at
herselfin the mirror, with the kids scootching around on the floor, telling
them,"Isn't Mommy a sexy business lady? Hmm, isn't she?""

I have to agree with her on this point, it seems like it is way past time that Britney stopped dressing like a teenager. In fact not only does she need to start dressing like an adult, she could start acting like an adult too.

"Apparently Liza Minnelli asked Scott Baio to impregnate her. He says he was
soflattered that he had to start dating her."

While it is hard to think about the result from these two mating, I am sure it would have looked nothing like the result of Chocolate and Peanut Butter - or maybe it would have. This is news you probably didn't want to hear today, or ever, but it is my duty to bring it to you.

Daily Kos: Grand Illusion: The Untold Story of Rudy Giuliani and 9/11:

Daily Kos: Grand Illusion: The Untold Story of Rudy Giuliani and 9/11:
"Giuliani's insistence that the city's emergency command center be withinwalking
distance of City Hall led to its location in WTC 7, right next to thecity's
major terrorist target. The building's lack of suitability for suchpurposes
combined with Giuliani's willingness to violate safety standards led tothe
location of an oversized, insufficiently-protected fuel tank aboveground. In the
name of getting back to normal, rescue and cleanup workers and theresidents of
lower Manhattan were not warned about air quality problems.Residents were
encouraged to clean their own apartments despite evidence thatthe dust and
debris coating them was toxic. Workers at Ground Zero were not madeto wear
safety equipment long after the urgent attempts to rescue survivors
hadended.Giuliani's management of all these issues was marked by laziness, vain
attention to pet projects (the command center at WTC 7 had a private suitewith
monogrammed towels and a cigar humidor) and wanton disregard for anyproject that did not satisfy his vanity."

Please read the larger post which is linked at the top for more details on the lies that have been put out there about Giuliani and 9/11. It sounds like he wasn't the one who started the fire, but he also wasn't the one who rang the alarm when smoke was rising in the years before 2001.

The Strata-Sphere » Blog Archive » The Next Big Loss For al-Qaeda: Pakistan:

"So al-Qaeda is massing in the tribal regions and southern Afghanistan. Itwould
seem Bin Laden is probably dead now that a 2002 video is being pawned offas a
‘new message’ from the beloved leader. His number 2, Zawahiri, has beenbegging
for more fighters. This reminds me of what happened in Iraq has theIslamo
Fascists ran from Anbar and Baghdad only to be trapped in DiyalaProvince. Is the
US, Pakistand, Afghanistan and NATO encircling the remnants ofal-Qaeda?"

This is good news if it turns out to be true. However what should not be missed is that even if al-Qeada as an army of terrorists is defeated, al-Qeada as a philosophy and a threat to the west will continue. Terror does not begin and end with either Bin Laden (who is probably dead) or Zawahiri. That said, I hope that these events will show Pakistan that it cannot make peace with the terrorists, they must be destroyed.

Is The Price Right for Drew Carey?

A Socialite's Life:Is The Price Right for Drew Carey?

"It sounds like Rosie O'Donnell's dream of taking over the hostinggig for
'The Price is Right,' is probably not going to come to fruition. Luckilyfor her,
the consolation prize is getting to be on a cruise with our own J.Harvey. It
sounds like Drew Carey has been tapped to reprise Bob Barker's roleon the game
show at CBS. From the New York Daily News:"

I was disappointed a couple days ago to see a report that didn't name Carey as having a shot for the job. I think he would be great on the show, he has the energy and the humor to bring new spark to it. It is an old show, and if you are going to keep people tuned into it, you have to give them something new to be excited about.

Crooks and Liars » AEI’s Fred Kagan on FNS: Wankerrific!

Crooks and Liars » AEI’s Fred Kagan on FNS: Wankerrific!:

"Kagan: I don’t think you can talk about percentages because people are trying
to make a false dichotomy here. The reason why we have a civil war in Iraq, the
reason why we have sectarian violence is because al Qaeda deliberately set out
to create and foment sectarian violence. It was the bombing of the Samarra
mosque in 2006, which set off this round of intense sectarian violence, which
only began to drop again in January as the surge began. And al Qaeda’s still at
it. They went after the minarets of the Samarra mosque not that long ago. So al
Qaeda, their whole strategy revolves around generating sectarian violence,
because that’s how they embed themselves in local communities in Iraq. The
notion that we could somehow fight al Qaeda without concerning ourselves with
sectarian violence completely misunderstands the realities on the ground. This
isn’t Afghanistan. These guys aren’t living in big training camps in the middle
of the desert, like they did in Afghanistan. They’re mingling with the
population and they’re using sectarian violence to force the population to
support them. If you don’t stop that dynamic, then talking about fighting al
Qaeda is just nonsensical."

While I might be missing his point the message I get from this is that Al Qaeda is taking advantage of the insecurity inside Iraq. They have created this insecurity by getting the two sides to fight each other. When one side gets attacked by the other, it allows the terrorists to come in and say that the Americans aren't doing enough to protect them and they need to fight with Al Qaeda. If we leave Iraq, and the country falls into choas, Al Qeada will blame the choas and the destruction on the Americans and use that as a tool to bring more Iraqis into their operation. If we leave tomorrow, and next year, we should leave Iraq as secure as we can, if we defeat Al Qaeda we are one step closer to that goal.

ABC News: Breast-Feeding: Private Act or Public Right?

ABC News: Breast-Feeding: Private Act or Public Right?:

"It is an act millions of new moms do everyday. But when it comes to
breast-feeding, some argue there is a time and a place for it. "

Yes a time and a place for a perfectly healthy natural part of life. This is stupid. If a womyn is whipping her breasts around for all to see while feeding, that is an issue in itself. However most cases it is something that is suttle and easy not to notice if you aren't paying attention, and easy to ignore because if you do notice you shouldn't be paying attention. We are not talking about exposer of body parts, because little of the womyns breast is normally exposed.

It is interesting in a culture of Paris Hilton, look everyone her nipple is showing again, and Britney Spears, who was placed on the cover of the NY Post clearly not wearing underwear (edited of course), would have a problem with this. Our culture is not concerned with exposure of the body, so why are we concerned with a womyn breast feeding in public. Shutting it out of the public square will only make it seem unnatural, and uncommon which could cause more womyn not to breast feed.

FOXNews.com - Fatah Gunmen Agree to End Attacks on Israel in Exchange for Amnesty - International News News of the World Middle East News Europe News:

"RAMALLAH, West Bank — Scores of Fatah militants in the West Bank have signed a
pledge renouncing attacks against Israel in return for an Israeli promise to
stop pursuing them, a Palestinian security official said Sunday.
The deal
would grant amnesty to 178 Fatah gunmen who will join the official Palestinian
security forces, and Israel will remove them from its lists of wanted militants,
the official said. He spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not
authorized to divulge details of the agreement."

This sounds like a good deal, but it also sounds like they are trying so hard to fight against Hamas, they might taking risks that will backfire on them in the future. While Fatah is better than Hamas, I don't know that means they should be trusted.

"“It’s ironic that someone who has made a career out of holding powerful

This is a good point by point discussion on the debate between Moore and Gupta and the issues that are in question.

OK! Mag Swimming In Murky Ethical Waters / Jossip

OK! Mag Swimming In Murky Ethical Waters / Jossip:

"“If OK! did pay for the images in order to repress them,” the Grey
Lady continues, “then the magazine now holds compromising photos of two
celebrities it will want to cover in the future. The situation raises questions
about what sort of access to the celebrities the magazine may have negotiated in
return for the favor.”"

While the original intention of buying the pictures was to keep them from being published, this is a valid point. If at some point in the future there is a falling out between either of these stars and the magazine, say a lawsuit, the pictures might be published after all.

"The ex-jailbird heiress — who raised eyebrows when she told Larry
King that she reads the Bible but couldn’t single out her favorite part — seems
to have a similarly fuzzy passion for politics. While off camera, King asked
Paris Hilton if she votes, according to a source.
Oh yes, Hilton responded.
When did you last vote, King asked according to the insider, who says that
Hilton replied, “Last year.”
When King wanted to know which election she voted in, Hilton explained, “Presidential.”
“I guess she forgot there was no presidential election last year,” quipped one amused source. “She was too busy
reading the Bible.”"

This makes her statement about the dumb blonde thing being an act, hard to believe.

Joel Madden May Not Be Have Fathered Nicole Richie’s Baby, Four Potential Fathers Pop Crunch:

"The National Enquirer claims that there were four men in Nicole’s life before
she found out that she was pregnant and that ‘The Simple Life’ star will not
know for sure who fathered her child until the potential baby-daddies undergo
paternity tests."

Someone call Maury.... Honestly I don't think this rumor is true, she hasn't been seen with any other men since her DUI. While I admit it could be true, I think the sad truth is that Joel is the father.

Sharon Osbourne To Replace Paula Abdul On ‘American Idol’ | TV Crunch

Sharon Osbourne To Replace Paula Abdul On ‘American Idol’ TV Crunch:

"Producers of ‘American Idol’ are rumored to be fed up with the bizarre
antics ‘Hey Paula’ star and ‘A.I’ judge Paula Abdul and are preparing to replace
the star with British-born housewife Sharon Osbourne.
“They’re looking to give “Idol” a face-lift, and they think Sharon - who’s rated highly with viewers on Simon’s other show, ‘America’s Got Talent’ - will bring a fresher look. And
they’re sure Sharon will play will off Simon’s sharp tongue.”"

Rumors about there being a new judge of American Idol are known to fly around the net frequently. From time to time, this means an interesting person for the position. This time I hope that this really is just a rumor. It could be that the people behind the show are releasing these rumors onto the net as a way of judging public opinion about who might be a good judge.

"The syndicated talk shows (and I use that term very, very loosely) Jerry
Springer and Maury have been renewed through the 2010 season. Yes, that's right,

its 10th."

Good news for all you Jerry fans out there, and I used to be one until I stopped watching TV. If his show was on the internet, I would be there. Oh yeah, the good news is that you won't have to worry about getting your dose of Jerry, because the show has been renewed until 2010.
