Republicans are claiming that this needs to be passed as soon as possible because of the danger that our country is in. However, I think that this issue is so important that it is something that needs more time. On an issue like this there are a lot of concerns about, privacy and how this bill can be changed in a way that offers us a way of protecting the country and protecting Americans rights. Finding the balance is not going to be easy, and it should not be rushed.

wiretapping powers. Democratic leaders have expressed a new willingness to
work with the White House to amend the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act to

foreign telephone calls and e-mail. Such a step now requires court approval."

We won't know that until the report comes back from Iraq, with that information in hand the choice can be made with a deeper understanding of what is going on in Iraq on the ground.

I am dumbfounded by a statement like this, all at once he shows that he cannot be trusted to understand the nature of the enemy we face, and his own decision making process. I am thinking that Rudy may no longer rate as the scariest person in this race, and that is saying a lot.

Is this the end for Bill, I would hate to see him go down this way, though I guess it should have been predicted this is the way the cards would fall. It isn't that I don't want to see Bill go down, well ok a part of me thinks that he serves a valuable function of understanding the right. For me it is more about what this means in the bigger pictures for the progressive movement, the freedom of speech and the political discussion in this country.

His whole person is about defending against the liberal media and the bias of powerful groups on the left that want to control the discussion in this country. This feeds right into his ideas of himself, and his ideas of the world, and serves to support both of them. He will play himself off as a martyr who was speaking the truth and burned for it.
How would I like to see him go down, do hit the advertisers, hit the viewers. I would like to see him go down because the number of people who watch his show drops to the point that it is no longer making money. If his show is cut because of a low number of viewers, he will still scream - but the facts will not support him.

What it sounds like is that the photographer wasn't being as careful as he should of been with the child present. They rarely are though. It sounds like he got what he deserved, I mean I hate to put it like that, but what if Sean had got hurt, as much as we joke about them wanting to escape, they don't choose to be there. I think that Britney needs to get away from all this for a while, find some time to take care of herself and her family.

This puts me in one of those strange places where I find myself doing the strange thing of defending Britney. I am sure that if this statement were made, which is a big if since it took so long for it to leak to the press, it was not serious. If she honestly thought that her child was in danger, than it would be understandable that she would be upset. I really think we should give her a pass on this one, the whole situation sounds like it was upsetting for everyone.

It almost makes me wish I could watch the show. I am sure there will be plenty of great moments that make their way to the internet though. I think Whoopi is great for the show, it brings back a racial mix to the show, and she can be just as out spoken as Rosie - except she is funny. It will be fun to see how this changes the dynamic of the show.

I often find myself wondering if things could get any worse for Britney, and then they do. It is sad really, at this point her life is in such chaos that I think even she is a victim of it.
"There are rumblings that Spears directed her bodyguard to go after the
photographer, who suffered minor injuries during the fracas Thursday near the
spa at Wynn.If it can be proved that Spears conspired or was involved in the
“vicarious liability” for the action of her bodyguard, she can be charged.
