"Under a plan proposed by Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak, Israel would
disrupt electrical supplies, reduce fuel shipments to a bare minimum to run
hospital generators, and choke off shipments of goods to allow only essential
food and medicine to enter Gaza. In addition, it will continue military
operations 'against terror organizations.' "
Israel continues to supply electricity and fuel oil to a people that have attacked them relentlessly with missiles. Israel does this because they care about humyn rights. They could in all honesty in my book, cut off all support to Gaza. If the people of Gaza want a better life, they can either demand it of their own leaders or over throw them.
"The Senate has rejected the habeas corpus legislation in a 56 to 43 vote.
Senator Patrick Leahy put out a statement: “It is difficult to defend the higher
ground by taking the lower road. The world knows what our enemies stand for. The
world also knows what this country has tried to stand for and live up to — in
the best of times, and the worst of times. … We will not give up on this
This is a sad day, and a tragic mistake.
"Hollywood actress ANGELINA JOLIE is stunned by her man-eating reputation,
insisting she has only ever slept with four men. The Tomb Raider star claims she
has only had sex with current partner Brad Pitt, former husbands Billy-Bob
Thornton and Johnny Lee Miller and one other nameless man. She tells Britain’s
Cosmopolitan magazine, “It was never true. I had only slept with four men in my
life - and I married two of them!”"
What happened to all those lovers that she bragged about, was she just lying to make herself appear sexier. Could it be that she is lying now because she understands that her children are going to see her past when they grow up. She doesn't want them to end up as crazy as she was.
"Shepherd revealed on “The View” that her 2 1/2-year-old son sees her naked
“all the time.” She says her son will say “Mommy! Booby!” Asked how old her son
would have to be for her to stop, Shepherd said “probably 8? Is that too old?”
She was assured that, yes, that would be too old for her son to see her naked.
Whoopi Goldberg suggested the cutoff age should be “when he starts bringing
friends over” to see her."
Man, it was a mistake to put this stupid womyn on the show. She can't open her mouth without saying something stupid. You can tell that she is not very bright, because when debates get complicated she makes a stupid joke. She doesn't understand the conversation, and making a joke is her way of steering it back to something she does understand. The show will suffer for her being on it.
Denise Richards Seeks Court Order To Revoke Charlie Sheen Overnight Custody; Actor Accused Of ‘Attraction To Underage Women’ | Pop Crunch
"Denise Richards is asking a court to terminate ex-husband Charlie Sheen’s
overnight privileges with the couple’s two daughters, Sam and Lola. The former
Bond Girl claims her ex-husband still exhibits “inappropriate behavior… and
conduct,” including “his attraction to underage women and his sexual
explicitness on the Internet, including revealing his private parts.”"
This sounds unfounded to me. If there were solid evidence of this, then it would have worked the last time that she tried it. It really sounds like a dirty attack on her part, which isn't good for anyone. It will hurt the kids the most.
"'According to a source, while Zac was away in Europe promoting Hairspray,
Vanessa was at a Hollywood Hills party, where eyewitnesses say she was “all
over” her older, not-Zac date. And when someone dared to ask about Zac, Vanessa
“threw a fit and said ‘don’t mention his name!’'"
Looks like someone isn't the good girl that she likes people to think that she is.
So, what she is saying is that she is stupid, she just isn't that stupid. Did she just confess to doing Robitussin trips?
"Reality shingle 44 Blue Prods. has inked a development deal with Chris Crocker, the Internet superstar whose tear-filled defense of Britney Spears has
generated nearly 8 million hits on YouTube in just one week. Plan is to develop
a docusoap built around Crocker, a 19-year-old who lives with his grandparents
in Tennessee. Even before the Britney clip, Crocker had developed a large Net
audience via numerous video performances posted on MySpace.com."
There is no justice or sense in the world of television. If he is going to cry like that on every show, he is going to have a short run.
Celebrity Dirt with Jackson Blue: Ever wonder who's gonna miss OJ Simpson when he's in the slammer???
I think I know where OJ is hiding his secret assets.
Rachel, she continues to one of my favorites on the show. She doesn't come off as glamorous as Bridget but she has her own beauty. Besides that I think that she is smarter than Bridget. She had to do a last minute photo shoot for the magazine, and she looked really good. At the end of the last of the two episodes, she was heart broken to discover that Jane was closing. She found out by Text from Bridgette. The magazine hadn't told them. Her and Andrew are like brother and sister now.
Andrew and Bridget are the topic of the show now. Will they are won't they. There was a party in the first show, Bridget was acting jealous, asking him if he was going to have a bunch of girls over. Andrew likes her, he just doesn't seem ready to commit, either because they live together or they kind of work together, or something else. At the end of the first episode he tried to kiss her, and she turned her face away. This is so distracting, and not why I watch the show.
Bridget, the devil herself. No, she isn't the devil, I am just joking. She doesn't do anything in the first episode besides flirt with Andrew. When she isn't doing that she is spying on Mandie during the interview process. It got to the point that Mandie had to ask her to get to work. For some reason Mandie treats Bridget different than she treats the other girls. Mandie does appear to be getting tired of her though, and she might change her attitude towards her before the end of the show. In the second episode besides flirting with Andrew, and acting like a teenage girl that gets confused by men, she messed up her job. The first was when her and the new girl were supposed to dress windows. The client came back and wished that she had done it herself it was so bad. Later Bridget is supposed to be showing clothes to a Jane editor for a pull. The Jane editor has Andrew with her, which makes Bridget act like an eight year old. All she can talk about is how Andrew dresses at work. Mandie told her that she needed to learn about the collections, because she was going to need to have that information so she could answer questions.
Tina and Janjay. They didn't no anything for their jobs. I think they are getting paid to talk now. In the first episode it was all about crying about why they don't have men in their lives. Really the whole show, laying in the sun in the park, at work, at the club meeting. The second show, Janjay moved on and went to church with her mother. She invited Tina, and Tina went in the cutest hat ever Tina is a beautiful womyn with great style. Then they went out and ate friend food, which freaked out Tina. I put them together because there really wasn't a single scene of the not together in both episodes. They are boring.
Nicole... yeah she is gone. If only she were around to add some spark, some tension to the show. Even when she was messing up, you knew you could look forward to Mandie speaking curtly to her about it.
Laurie, is new girl working with Bridget. She is a friendly, nervous looking girl, that needs to do a lot to get up to speed. Mandie didn't like her, and told her so, told her that she was giving her a chance though she wasn't sure she should. When Laurie said that she was spending money from savings, Mandie replied that she should spend money on clothes not on food. If she works hard, I think she can hack it, she is way smarter than Nicole. She doesn't know as much as Bridget, but she might be smarter and a harder worker than her. As for her and the rest of the group. Watch for trouble with her and Andrew and Bridget.
Mandie is a snide and hot as ever. I love that, spend money on clothes not on food.
You go bar hopping of course! The day after a judge ordered Britney to be drug and booze tested twice a week if she wants to keep her kids, she hit the clubs! Hey, she's celebrating. TMZ caught Britney with her girlfriends visiting Winston's and Hyde in one night. She ignored questions from the paps about the court order and about her kids.
This makes is harder to feel sorry for her in this mess. She needs to get out of Hollywood, take a break from the clubs, from the cameras and from the business for a while. If she doesn't she will lose her kids and her career. The whole going to the night club and not drinking story just isn't going to work this time.
At least one family source defends Spears, saying a lack of education is to
blame: “She loves her children so much, but it’s like she’s never been taught
how to properly take care of them.” Even when she holds her kids on her lap,
says the friend, that maternal bond seems to be missing: “She looks lifeless.
It’s like she doesn’t understand the impact of being a mother.”
Parenting classes could be a real help for Britney, from everything I have seen she really loves her kids. She wants to take care of them and do best by them, but she doesn't know how. Her parents don't appear to be the best parents, and probably she never learned how to be a parent by having a good example set for her.
LAS VEGAS, Nevada (September 19, 2007) — A judge set bail Wednesday at $125,000 for O.J. Simpson in the former football star’s alleged role in the armed robbery of sports memorabilia collectors at a casino hotel.
His attorney later said he expected the former football star to be released within hours and return to Florida.
What, they are releasing him, just when I thought the streets were safe for me to start selling that closet of OJ goods that I have stolen from him over the years. He is going to return to Florida after handing over his passport. I assume this means he will return to the court for the trial date.
"Nick's claming that he and Brit have been 'dating' for about three weeks," a
source close to the 27-year-old boy-bander tells OK!. "He says they've been
chatting, texting, instant messaging and talking all the time; they're both
heavy into each other." The source also reveals that Nick has even told some of
his bandmates, "I really like her."
Nick and Britney, what are they going to form their own little pop duo. They could be called Nictknee. I hope that this is just a bad rumor, or a sinking celeb trying to make up stories about Britney to get attention. The Carter family might be the only family in Hollywood more messed up than Britney's - the Lohan family is on Long Island.
NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- Stocks rallied Tuesday after the Federal Reserve cut a key short-term interest rate by a half-percentage point, reassuring investors that it was taking aggressive action amid the credit and mortgage market meltdown.
The Dow Jones industrial average jumped roughly 336 points, the biggest one-day point gain since Oct. 15, 2002, when the Dow added 378.28 points. On a percentage basis, the Dow added 2.5 percent, its best one-day gain since April 2, 2003, when it gained 2.67 percent.
The market responded with favor to this news, now it is a matter of how main street will respond. Smart people will not take this as an advantage to buy more, they will take it as an advantage to save more. Sooner or later that interest rate has to rise again. Saving money now, will give debtors more to draw from to pay the bills when they increase in the future with interest rates. Most people will probably spend more though, and cry when the rates rise in the future.
To exercise exclusive Legislation in all Cases whatsoever, over such District
(not exceeding ten Miles square) as may, by Cession of particular States, and
the acceptance of Congress, become the Seat of the Government of the United
States, and to exercise like Authority over all Places purchased by the Consent
of the Legislature of the State in which the Same shall be, for the Erection of
Forts, Magazines, Arsenals, dock-Yards, and other needful Buildings ...
Why DC was denied voting rights in congress and presidential elections under the constitution is something that I don't understand. It was written before the city was built, so there must be a logic working there. What I do understand is that it is written in the constitution and I don't see clear and compelling reason to change that.
The argument regarding the racial composition of Washington DC is ludicrous
on its face. The exclusion of DC from Congressional representation precedes
voting rights for African-Americans by 76 years. It has nothing to do with
racial animus, but rather with preserving a neutral zone in which Congress can
work and deliberate. The founders were clear in their construct of a Congress
representing the sovereign states and not federal territory -- which is why we
don't have Representatives from Guam and Senators from American Samoa.
This is a sound argument in my opinion.
We ask European legislatures to institute laws that criminalize insults to all
religions and sanctuaries.
After stating that they believe in freedom of speech, they ask this among a list of other requests. What I don't understand is what part of free speech do they not understand. It is either free or it isn't, to exclude speech about religious groups would be to undermine the quality of it being free speech. Why just religions, why not political parties, people are equally offended and upset about insults to their political beliefs sometimes.
Republican presidential candidate Fred Thompson met with Florida Gov. Charlie
Crist in Tallahassee this morning and said he wouldn’t rule out drilling for oil
in the Everglades. “Gosh, no one has told me there is any major reserves in
the Everglades,” the former Tennessee senator said when asked about the issue.
“Maybe that’s one of the things I have to learn while I’m down here.”
The point that seems to be missing sometimes in these debates is what will be left when we are done. We might be able to get energy resources for a short time out of places like Alaska Refuge and the Everglades. At some point though, those sources will dry up. When that happens, we will have no energy and we will have lost a valuable natural resource that can never be replaced.
The slowdown came in the midst of a price-control programme imposed by President Robert Mugabe in June. Businesses were ordered to cut or freeze prices for items such as bread and milk. But critics say the measures have just
deepened the chronic food shortages suffered by Zimbabweans. At the end of
August, President Mugabe introduced jail terms of up to six months for anyone
caught trying to raise prices or wages.
Sadly, the government isn't going to be able to regulate its way out of this. The more restrictions that are placed on the market, the harder the troubles will get for the country.
The body was found in the boot of the car outside the home in Auckland, New
Zealand. Police have not confirmed it is the girl's mother, Annie Xue.
Three-year-old Qian Xun Xue - known as Pumpkin until identified on Monday -
was found in Melbourne on Saturday.
Police believe her father, Xue Nai Zin, fled to the US after dumping her.
This is turning out to be an interesting story. It started when the little girl was found by authorities in Australia. Authorities began to search for her parents in Australia, the US and New Zealand. The discovery of the body, will shift the focus to the father, who it is believed is in America.
I don't know if it is too late for this, but this is a very important issue, make the call.
Thanks so much to everyone who has been making calls this morning to support S.Amend. 2202 — the Restore Habeas Corpus Act. More information here. We need to keep those calls to every single Senator going today. Your help is needed, because a vote is schedule for as early as tomorrow on this.

"Proof of cooperation between Iran and Syria in the proliferation and
development of weapons of mass destruction was brought to light Monday in a
Jane’s Defence Weekly report that dozens of Iranian engineers and 15 Syrian
officers were killed in a July 23 accident in Syria. According to the report,
cited by Channel 10, the joint Syrian-Iranian team was attempting to mount a
chemical warhead on a Scud missile when the explosion occurred, spreading lethal
chemical agents, including sarin nerve gas."
I guess that is one way to do weapons testing.

"(CNN) -- Two University of Florida police officers were placed on leave
with pay after using an electronic stun gun to subdue a student who was
questioning Sen. John Kerry at a campus forum, the school's president said
Tuesday. Student Andrew Meyer is surrounded by university police in Gainesville,
Florida, on Monday. But the student's behavior and past activities are prompting
questions about whether the incident was part of a stunt."
It is good to know that there are going to be investigations and that there might be charges. The student was clearly out of line, he was provoking an incident. The police should have handled the situation better though, they had enough officers, and had him on the floor in cuffs when they tasered him.
"CNN’s all over it. He gave a video camera he’d brought with him to the student
next to him and asked her to film him — right before he started laying into
Kerry. His demeanor “completely changed” once he was in the squad car and away
from the cameras, say the cops; “you didn’t do anything wrong,” he allegedly
told them — before asking if there were any cameras in the jail they were taking
him to. He had no ID on him at the time of the arrest according to what he told
the cops with 1:57 left in this afternoon’s video — but he did have a business
card for his dopey vanity website, per the CNN report."
There seem to be plenty of these kind of journalism students at my school too - I am a journalism major so they are in my classes. They hate the government and think that it is evil and corrupt. They hate the media and think that it is biased and stupid. What I don't understand is why they want to be journalists, working in the media, talking to the government. The other interesting point, is how they seem so blinded by their own hatreds and feels of moral uprightness that they don't see their own bias. This is a publicity stunt, plain and simple, he was not asking questions. He was verbally attacking Kerry.
You know Kerry hasn't got this much press since the 70s.
"ABC News' Rick Klein Reports: Sen. John Kerry on Tuesday comdemned the arrest
of a University of Florida student at one of his speeches, saying that he was
engaged in a 'good healthy discussion' with 21-year-old Andrew Meyer when he was
Tasered and taken into custody."
Could and should have Kerry attempted to do more to stop the arrest and the subsequent violence that followed. He verbally attempted to calm the situation, and said that he wanted to answer the question. However should he have been more forceful or come off the stage?
"The matter of voting machine 'sleepovers' --- the practice of sending
pre-programmed, election-ready voting systems home with pollworkers, often days
and weeks prior to elections, for deliver to polls on Election Day --- first
became a controversy last year after The BRAD BLOG exposed the issue as it
occurred during San Diego's special election to replace disgraced Republican
U.S. House Rep. Randy 'Duke' Cunningham. "
Why isn't this one of those ideas that we should just understand is wrong. Even if the person who is watching the machine is honest, his life is in danger if someone wants to either force him to tamper with it, or break into the house to tamper with it themselves. Just a bad idea.
"Teen stars Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens have reportedly broken up, buckling
under the pressure of the publicity generated by their recent nude pic scandal.
The High School Musical stars officially split this week after Efron confronted
Hudgens about reports she had been consorting with an older man."
This is just a rumor at this point, but hopefully this isn't true. It would be really sad to see this young couple break up.
