Harry Potter will survive The Deathly Hallows.

Harry Potter will survive The Deathly Hallows.:

"Where does this prediction come from? The likelihood of this prediction is computed in real time by a prediction market. The prediction is treated like a stock that traders can buy and sell. "

This is good news for my sister.

Now for who I think will die in the last book. Again this is based on speculation and not on knowledge of the last book. I have not read the last book, or any of the books actually.

I think Hermione dies and this is why...

1) I don't think that the person in the book that JK is the closest too would be Harry, but Hermione. In fact I think that Hermione is the writer in her own story.
2) Like JK, Hermione has come from a position of relatively low status and risen to high status, against the odds.
3) If Hermione is the writer in the story, the surest way to make sure the story ends is to take the writer out of the story.
4) Her name has always looked to me like the word heroine.
5) I believe that she will die to save someone Else's life, showing her strength of spirit and will in a clear message about the discrimination against her and other muggle borns.
6) Her name comes from a Shakespeare tragedy, where the character by the same name dies.
7) The name Hermione comes from the name of the god Hermes (Mercury), the god who among other things serves as the connection between men and gods.
8) Her last name, Granger come from a Ray Bradbury book Fahrenheit 451, where it is the leader of a group of men who work to preserve books in a future where books are burned. At one point this leader talks about the phoenix its endless cycle of life and death and rebirth.
9) Because JK said that she cried at the end of the book, which implies that someone in the book that she was very close to had died.
