Lana Clarkson was shot to death at Phil Spector's mansion back in 2003. And now,
the jury at the trial is reportedly split 7-5. The judge said that he might give
them new instruction such as the option of weighing a possible manslaughter
charge. Right now they were instructed to only consider a second degree murder.

Looks like he is going to get away with murder. After two weeks, the jury can't settle on a verdict. Juries are funny things, sometimes they get the picture and sometimes they don't. This seems like such a clear case, at least to me.

I think that he is guilty, I am not going to hope that the jury comes back and convicts him. Just that the jury is able to see what the truth is and rule based on that.

No they want to convict him because he is an insane egomaniac, who abuses and degrades womyn. Also there is the little point that there is no reason to believe that Lana killed herself. There is however every reason to believe that Spector killed her.

I hope that this is the story that the jury sees when they look at the case. She was a young womyn who was trying to follow a dream. To Phil she was just another pawn in his game, a disposable person like so many other womyn before that he abused and threatened.

I was reading Dominick Dunne's column in Vanity Fair and in it he says that the gun was found by Lana's left foot. If she had shot herself, since she is right handed it should have been found by her right foot. Just another small detail in the story that in my opinion points to Phil being guilty. The jurors got a tour of what everyone is calling a castle, so they could see the crime scene themselves.

What we learned from this is that he is right handed, a right handed attentive father who was a nut job and loved guns. Ok, well maybe we didn't learn that he was an attentive father, just that his daughter would like the court to think that he is.

So what is the truth here, was Lana a depressed womyn who wanted to die, and took her own life. Or is Phil Spector a crazy man with a love of guns and violence that may have taken her life by accident. When it comes down to questions like these, it takes time to shift through each person was/is. Spector has a well known love of guns and a reputation as being a lose canon. That does not make him a killer though. In my opinion, probably what happened is that he was doing some of his gun play that others have talked about, and it went wrong. Leonard Cohen says that Spector once put a gun to Cohen's head and said he loved him. Could Spector have done a similar stunt with Clarkson, but this time the gun went off?

This is testimony of a retired cop who had worked security for a couple of parties that Spector had attended. Spector was thrown out both of the parties. He says that Spector repeated this comment about womyn over and over again. I don't know what this tells us about Spector that we didn't already know, we already knew he was crazy. The statement could mean that he hated womyn, or it could mean that we was drunk, had a broken heart or both. I think that he is guilty, that he shot this womyn, but I don't think it was something that he planned, or that he intended.

The question seems to be focused on weather Dr. Lee had picked up evidence that pointed towards the guilt of Spector. The prosecution claims that what was picked up was a piece of Clarkson nail, which would show that her hand was in front of her face when she was shot.
