Palestinian Refugee Camp Marked with Monument to Western Vapidity [Twitter]
Palestinian refugees can now enjoy the world's first-ever street named after Twitter following a Dutchman's $146 donation. Good luck explaining Twitter to your kids, refugee camp parents, or giving out your address. At least the money goes to charity.
WHAT??? All I can say is WHAT???
Class Divide Remains Strong Online [Money Matters]
Hooray! Even social networking sites have caste systems. Richie rich folk who live in urban areas use Twitter and Facebook more than their poor, younger country bumpkin counterparts, who still use something called MySpace.
What is MySpace?

Time Warner to Sell Time Inc? | Online | Mediaite
During a discussion at University of Southern California's Annenberg School for Communication, investor Gordon Crawford claimed that Time Warner would eventually sell-off their print unit Time Inc., renewing lots of speculation about the print giant's future. The innocuous comment seemed like a throw away line to some; but it not only sent shock waves in media circles, it also forced many to predict a future that, frankly, no one really yet knows.

MSNBC’s Norah O’Donnell Aggressively Defends Video of Kids Singing to Obama
MSNBC’s Norah O’Donnell on Thursday appeared mystified as to why anyone would have a problem with New Jersey school children being led in a song praising Barack Obama. The February 2009 video contained these lyrics: "He said we must be fair today! Equal work means equal pay! Barack Hussein Obama! He said, red yellow, black or white, all are equal in his sight! Barack Hussein Obama!"It might not be something that has evil intention, or a step for government mind control - BUT I am concerned about what appears to be the politicization of education. I wouldn't want my kids singing songs about President Bush and how he wanted us to all stand for freedom. While saying that President Obama views all people as equal isn't a bad thing to say in itself, in this context it carries the implication that others don't, an implication against former presidents and other political leaders.
Latin America breaks ranks in US war on drugs
"Many countries in the region - most recently Mexico - have decriminalized small amounts of drugs for personal use. The moves have followed decisions by left-leaning governments to limit cooperation with the US in recent years."
Maybe because the "war" on drugs has been a failure, mainly because it has become a war on drug users. That would be a war on our own friends, family and neighbors. I don't use drugs, I don't support drug use - but I think it is time to rethink our laws and how they are enforced.
