Psychiatrist Who 'Proved' Gays Can Be Cured Says It Was All a Big Mistake

Psychiatrist Who 'Proved' Gays Can Be Cured Says It Was All a Big Mistake:

"I believe I owe the gay community an apology for my study making unproven claims of the efficacy of reparative therapy. I also apologize to any gay person who wasted time and energy undergoing some form of reparative therapy because they believed that I had proven that reparative therapy works with some "highly motivated" individuals."

I think that gay rights, like the abortion issue, is a discussion going on at national level that is actually two discussions. Each side is having their own debates, and doing little to win over the other side. Does Obama's change make a difference, does this make a difference? Only to people who accepted the idea to begin with. What changes people's minds is knowing someone who is gay, and understanding they are just people.

Syrian cities under fire, opposition says

Syrian cities under fire, opposition says: Syrians in the devastated city of Homs endured another day of heavy shelling Sunday, opposition activists said, a day after the U.N. Security Council voted to send up to 300 observers to monitor a shaky cease-fire.

The only "cease fire" the government of Syria cares about is the one that comes after its foes are dead or fled from the country. They will not stop killing until they feel safe, and by feeling safe I mean democratic ideas in Syria are extinguished.

Dallas to make feeding poor illegal

Texas Public Policy Foundation - Legislative Updates

Under these proposed changes most feeding of the poor in Dallas would be illegal. This isn't a liberal move or a conservative move by government. It is a sick and twisted attack on the poor and the people who reach out to help them.
