First look at Sienna Miller's fashion line - Fashion Trends blog

In another example of the backwardness of today's celebrity atmosphere where someones name means more than what they have been able to do, Miller has created her own fashion line. Truth is that marketing specialists have discovered that they can create a line of items - clothes, watches, jewelery - and that by allowing a celebrity designing input and slapping their name on the item, it sells. It doesn't just sell, millions of people want to buy something that has the name of the star they love on it, they don't buy it for the quality or their attraction to the design. Imagine you are selling a product, and you can push what used to be the prime motivators for consumer sales out the window - you have gold.

The draw back to this is that images are based on names, which are attached to people. You can invest a great deal of money on a line for market. Then on the day that it is set to launch the celebrity foundation you depended on gets arrested - the line loses the image that was selling it and becomes a huge loss.
