Immigration Judges Often Picked Based On GOP Ties - washingtonpost.com

Immigration Judges Often Picked Based On GOP Ties - washingtonpost.com:

"The Bush administration increasingly emphasized partisan political ties
over expertise in recent years in selecting the judges who decide the fate of
hundreds of thousands of immigrants, despite laws that preclude such
considerations, according to an analysis by The Washington Post."

If this is true it really cuts the White House both ways. One in that is is dirty and illegal, and is just another example of this White Houses lack of regard for the law. Second, if they were putting republicans into immigration judge seats, why is the immigration system still so out of control. If the system was working at the least they could point to that as an asset for the party. However the system is so dysfunctional that even if it were legal I don't think the republican party should be bragging about the placement of republicans in those positions.
