Best Week Ever » Blog Archive » MEMO TO ALI LOHAN: Sweetie, We Need to Talk:

"i think that the whole reason why my sister is upset with her self and not
as cofident, is
because of my dad not being around, and always staying out late and not coming
home for days, he would come back home never himself, he was always was making
excuses for his bad behavior . And would always blame my mother. "

You know what is sad about this, everyone connected to Lindsay has been making excuses for her. Her lawyer said that she is sick, that addiction is a disease. Then they try and tell us that they were both being chased by another car, one that they have so little information on they can't describe it. Wait, those drugs in her pants weren't hers, she was wearing someone else's pants. She had only just started drinking a couple hours before she chased her assistants mom. Not that she was driving, she may not have been driving. Now this note from her sister, where she says that Lohan's problems, the staying out late and lack of self esteem are her fathers fault.

What no one is doing is saying that Lindsay made a mistake. She made a mistake when she drank, addiction is an illness that can be overcome. She made a mistake when she allowed herself to be found with cocaine on her person. Which means that even if the cocaine wasn't hers, she made a mistake when she choose to hang out with friends who were drinking and using drugs. I think Lindsay is great, but if she is going to get better, she needs to accept the responsibility for her choices and her actions. Sartre said the greatest freedom in the world is totally accepting the consequences of your actions. It sounds like the people are her, are supporting her, by allowing her to believe that it isn't her fault.
