I like McCain, but he has staked a position on a couple of key issues that are unpopular. One is the war in Iraq where he has supported the president, which polls say a majority of Americans oppose. The second is the immigration issue where he once again sided with the president, a position that drew disfavor from both the left and the right. The only people who are going to vote for McCain now are the few people who support his stand, or support him because they find him to be honorable for taking honest stands.
