Humans are consuming natural resources so quickly that we're running out (kottke.org):

"The element gallium is in very short supply and the world may well run out of
it in just a few years. Indium is threatened too, says Armin Reller, a materials chemist
at Germany's University of Augsburg. He estimates that our planet's stock of
indium will last no more than another decade."

Are we spending ourselves broke on a planetary level, and if so is there any real reason to not consume more? It may be true that we are using up the planets resources, but if everyone else is going to get as much as they can, choosing to pretend you can save the planet will only mean being left with nothing after everyone else has grabbed what they can.
