Plath's son dies
Very sad indeed.

The news wants you to know rich people died.
I have to say, that really isn't important to the story. I don't know why the writer felt the need to start with that information.

Spector is Dangerious?
Anyone who plays with guns as much as Spector does is clearly a threat. Then there is the hair.

RealClearPolitics - HorseRaceBlog - Obama's Liberal Moment
RealClearPolitics - HorseRaceBlog - Obama's Liberal Moment:
I for one think that Obama isn't ruling the way he promised.
"Senior members of the Obama administration are pressing lawmakers to use a shortcut to drive the president's signature initiatives on health care and energy through Congress without Republican votes...
The shortcut, known as 'budget reconciliation,' would allow Obama's health and energy proposals to be rolled into a bill that cannot be filibustered, meaning Democrats could push it through the Senate with 51 votes, instead of the usual 60. Presidents Ronald Reagan and Bill Clinton both used the tactic to win deficit-reduction packages, while George W. Bush used it to push through his signature tax cuts."
I for one think that Obama isn't ruling the way he promised.

Dirty Tricks: Newspapers Demand Google Welfare
Dirty Tricks: Newspapers Demand Google Welfare:
Write stories that people want to read, about things they care about and you don't need to cheat the Google system. Professional newspapers have staff (which I am one of), that means writers and editors. Clearly they should be able to compete against Bloggers - many of whom have no training.
"For years, newspaper executives whined that parasitic bloggers thrived by
merely linking to newspaper stories. But they're no longer linking enough:
Newspapers now demand Google rig its link-counting system in their favor"

From The Hills To The Hill: TMZ Turns Its Focus To D.C.:
I think this is a good idea. I love TMZ for its gossip news, if it can bring the same coverage to DC it might get more people interested in government.
"TMZ will soon be giving Lindsey Graham the Lindsay Lohan treatment,
as the company sics its 'reporters' and camera crews on politicians. Because if
there's one thing Washington needs, it's more frivolous reporting."

Baby Steps: Are Babies At The Heart Of What Makes Us Human?
Baby Steps: Are Babies At The Heart Of What Makes Us Human?:
It really makes sense that society would be more concerned about adapting for the weakest members. That would be children.
"Primatologist Sarah Blaffer Hrdy says that while most scholars believe our
evolution was driven by the need to fight, she believes that a human baby's need
for attention is what separates us from animals."
It really makes sense that society would be more concerned about adapting for the weakest members. That would be children.
Delayed Gratification: Study Says Commercials May Make TV Better
Delayed Gratification: Study Says Commercials May Make TV Better:
I of course disagree with this in theory, but in reality I understand the logic behind it and think there is a solid point to be had.
"New research on consumer behavior suggests that interrupting an experience can
make it more intense, which is why commercials may actually make TV more
enjoyable."

Books: Bailouts Spike Atlas Shrugged Sales:
I love the book, everyone should read it.
"All of the government's pesky market intrusions have people snapping up copies
of Atlas Shrugged like they were bailout packages. Since it's not like Ayn
Rand's laissez-faire fantasies got us into this mess."
I love the book, everyone should read it.
