Imus says he's defending, not offending 'Pacman' Jones
Ohhh, not again.
NEW YORK (CNN) -- Radio host Don Imus said Tuesday he was making "a sarcastic point" that police often unfairly target blacks when he asked about Adam "Pacman" Jones' race on his show.
Ohhh, not again.

A Socialite's Life
A Socialite's Life: That Didn't Take Long
Welcome back Imus, you nappy headed ho.
"'We are ecstatic to bring Don Imus back to morning radio,' said 77 WABC
President and General Manager Steve Borneman. 'Don's unique brand of humor,
knowledge of the issues and ability to attract big-name guests is unparalleled.
He is rested, fired up and ready to do great radio.' The acid-tongued
broadcasting icon was fired in April after he called the Rutgers University's
women's basketball team 'nappy-headed hos' on the air, sparking a national furor
and calls by civil rights leaders and broadcast journalists to resign."
Welcome back Imus, you nappy headed ho.

from CBS and retired on a ranch somewhere far away. Nooo......the old goat is
back and ready for action!"
Welcome back Imus.

Hot Air » Blog Archive » Rutgers player to sue Imus for libel, slander, defamation, double secret defamation, etc:
If you ask me it is Al Sharpton this young lady should be suing. Imus made a mistake and said it once on the air. Sharpton took advantage of that mistake and that young girl for his political advantage, making a single comment the most repreat phrase of the year on television news (ok I don't know that). The point is, that Sharpton, in order to push his own political agenda forward took steps that harmed this girls career and her life. If Imus should be sued, so should Sharpton.
"Kia Vaughn, star center for the Rutgers Women’s Basketball team, has filed a
lawsuit against Imus for libel, slander and defamation — the first civil suit to
be filed against the former radio host. Vaughn is asking for monetary damages of
an unspecified amount…Today’s suit refers to terms used by Imus April 4 —
including referring to women on the team as “nappy headed” — as “debasing,
demeaning, humiliating, and denigrating” to Vaughn and her fellow players.
“There’s no way these bigoted remarks should have seen the light of day,”
Ancowitz told ABC News.“Don Imus referred to my client as an unchaste woman.
That was and is a lie.”"

Rosie O’Donnell & Don Imus To Co-Host Political Show On Fox? | TV Crunch
Rosie O’Donnell & Don Imus To Co-Host Political Show On Fox? TV Crunch:
Of all the rumors I have heard about Rosie O'Donnell I hope this one turns out to be true. It would be a great show, and I think that if the format was right she could express herself in ways that "The View" was not the best for. Working with Imus, who is liberal like Rosie would be a good mixture. I think it is funny that it would be on Fox News, the channel that hated Rosie the most - if you believe her.
"Veteran celebrity snitch Mike Walker is dishing that short-lived former
co-host of “The View” and ousted “Nappy Headed Ho” caller Don Imus are in talks
with Fox to co-host a ratings raving political talk show on Fox. Fox is
reportedly flinging fistfuls of cash at the controversial pairing. "

Don Imus: 'Dude, Where's My Car $40 Million?' / Jossip
Don Imus: 'Dude, Where's My Car $40 Million?' / Jossip
Imus may have lost his show, but does his contract mean that he is owed $40 million? There seems to have been a provision in his contract that stated that he be given notice before he was fired. As a result of not getting notice Imus and his lawyers believe that he is due to money that was left on his contract.

ABC News: Imus Producer Angry at Firing
ABC News: Imus Producer Angry at Firing
The former producer for the Don Imus show was talking about the end of the show and his job on Hannity and Colmes. On the Fox News channel show, Bernard McGuirk called Al Sharpton, a terrorist for his role in leading the charge.
While admitting that the statements that were made by himself and Imus were wrong, he expressed that it would be dangerious to have a society where we cannot poke fun at each other. The nature of the language involved in the dialogue clearly goes beyond the level of poking fun though in my opinion.
"It seemed like he terrorized broadcast executives," he said. "It seemed like they were in a fetal position under their desks sucking their thumbs on their Blackberrys, trying to coordinate their response."
While I agree with his statements about Sharpton, it is not reasonable to say that calling someone a "ho", even if it is not a racial slur, should be a joke. He goes on to complain about crossing the line, when he did not know where the line was. This is something that comes with freedom of speech, in a controlled environment it is easy to know what it allowed and what isn't. In a society like ours with changing standards it is possible that what is said one day, and accepted won't be the next. I think this means as a society we should extend a little patience and understanding to those who are willing accept their mistakes.
