"The state’s newest Democrat said his dissatisfaction with the Bush
administration also played a role in his decision. Froehlich claims to have been
against the Iraq War since before it began, said he is horrified at President
Bush’s abuse of Habeus Corpus (which Froehlich claimed is the thing that
“separates a free system from an unfree system”), has been very bothered by the
national party’s “harsh rhetoric” on immigration issues and has disagreed with
his fellow Republicans on environmental issues.The state’s newest Democrat said

This is the second person that Bush has run out of the party. I think that Froelich, a person I don't know much about, makes some good points about the abuse of power by this administration. There can be a million proper reasons, and actions to take, but if the actions you take are done so through abusing power and skirting the system, I can't justify any ends. The ends in fact do not justify the means, the means corrupt the ends.
