Captain's Quarters

Captain's Quarters: Sadr Backs Down

"Moqtada al-Sadr, who has tread lightly on Iraq's stage for the past
several months, announced today that his Mahdi Army will undergo rehabilitation.
It will take the next six months to reorganize itself, and in the meantime will
conduct no offensive operations in Iraq, including actions against American
forces:"

This sounds like a positive step for Iraq, and the American mission there. Hopefully Sadr's group will reform as more of a political movement and less of a militant movement. The less armed factions and more political ones in Iraq, the better.
