Paris Down to 23 Days, Abandons Appeal POPSUGAR - Celebrity Gossip & News.:

"Paris continues to buff up which is a good thing because as of now, she's still
headed to jail. Lucky for her though her sentence has been cut in half to 23
days by the Sheriff who has also agreed to put her in a celebrity cell away from
the other inmates. This may have something to do with the fact that Paris'
lawyer Richard Hutton has dropped her probation violation appeal which he was
planning to file today. Not sure if she cut a deal with the court or what but we
still doubt she will be serving one full day, let alone 23. Just a hunch. Paris

I think the news here isn't the shortness of the time that she is serving but the longness of it. I don't know if she will even serve that long when other factors become a consideration. The factor that she will be in a VIP jail does tell me that over crowding may be less of an issue than it is in general population. Also there could be pressure for her to serve that time because of the media attention. I don't think this is going to be the end of Paris Hilton, just another drama, she has dealt with a lot of this kind of drama in her public life, I don't see how this is any different.
