"Asked about the prospect of a Rove-run campaign, former Rove spokesman and
current Thompson spokesman (ahem) Mark Corallo tells Radar, 'I really don't think Karl Rove is going to have anything to do with any campaign in 2008... I talked to him
today, and we shared some e-mails and I told him, 'Enjoy your time with your
family and take care of [your wife] Darby.''"
Regardless of the rumors that have started to spread that Rove was going to be joining the Thompson campaign, it appears he won't be. Statements from Thompson spokesperson indicate that there are no plans to bring Rove into the campaign. Rove himself has said in the past that he is pretty much a Bush person, indicating that he wouldn't back any other candidates. He has lots of time to write books, and do speaking appearances to make money.
