The middle east is looking like a more dangerous place. This is the first I have heard about Syria gaining nuclear technology, and I would wait until more comes in to even guess about that. There was an attack though, both Israel and Syria confirm it. Most likely target would have been arms that were going to Lebanon for Hezbollah forces there. Hezbollah is like your little brother, every time it gets its ass kicked it goes into hiding. Like your little brother though, there isn't a change of mission. We live on a very small planet, and while I am in no way a Luddite, the environment has to be a concern to us. Some may believe that it doesn't effect us when a species dies, and that may be true that there is no direct effect. There are times in life that you are in a situation where what is legal is different from what is moral. If you see a person drowning in a river, and you can swim out there are help them. There is no legal obligation for you to do so, however you might believe that there is a moral one. I think that the moral responsibility for humynity is to do our best not to destroy the planet and kill off the other species that share this world with us.

Free Speech means that there are things that you can say, and there are things that you shouldn't say. I do not think that the armed forces are above question, or criticism. They are a part of our democracy as as such they also are subject to Free Speech. What should and should not be said regarding the military is similar to what I believe should and should not be said about others. You have the right to call the president any dirty name in the book. If you want people to respect you, and your opinions though it isn't a good idea to be trashing the president this way.What should be done, is people ideas and values and actions should be questioned. Motivations can be held up to the light to see if they are what we would expect from out leaders. Personal attacks have no positive place in a political conversation. That means calling a general a traitor is just wrong, you have the right to do it, but you shouldn't.

There are areas of the city that were in a position of such inherent danger that there is little if anything that can be done to make them safe. New Orleans amounts to being a very big sand bar, some of which lays under sea level. It doesn't make sense to me to build on such a foundation. Offer people who lost their homes funds to help them relocate. I know that some will talk about wanting to go back to their homes, and if they want to do that they should be able to. If they want to pay for it themselves.

Second is that the free expression of ideas is the most important freedom that we have as people. Honestly they shouldn't even be able to control the media of their own countries - let the adults in their countries do that.

While I think that this is true, I also thought this was true just before the election in 2000. I was so certain that a republican wouldn't win then, I wasn't even concerned who the nominee was. Remember the debates on the left were all about Gore and Nader. Well the left lost in 2000 and it can lose in 2008, and you might to know why. Because Americans are lazy about voting, they love to pontificate about how poorly the country is being run, but find it harder to voice their concerns in a vote. It was pointed out in 2000 that if everyone who didn't vote, voted for Nader, he would have won by a landslide. That is also why all the polls are so pointless, at the end of the day the only count that matters is the election. At the end of the day there is no prediction on who is going to show and vote for whom, and who is going to stay home.

It is asked if Miniter went to far, and made the attack on Beauchamp too personal. What I wonder is if this is all about politics being too personal. Everything from the stories themselves that seem to have been written by Beauchamp as a personal attack against the armed services. To the pundits who believed it, because they wanted to believe it - perhaps if they were not so personally attached to their ideas they would have seen the problems in the story. That includes people who worked at the magazine, was their relationship with the author too personal - he was engaged to one of the fact checkers, would a more objective fact checker seen the errors in the story? Even the attacks against the story, came out so fast and hot, that many of them must have been personal. Like those who are against the war, they have gotten too attached to their ideas and see any attack on them as personal. In the end, the last question is what does this mean for political dialogue in this country.

This is a dirty unfair attack on her character. I watched the show myself - just the one on Christianity I missed the others. It presented Christians as being strong and following in their beliefs. It talked about groups that opposed them but spent most of the time talking to believers, understanding their beliefs and even expressing empathy at times. The show appeared to be completely accurate and fair and balanced.

I think that Dina is a lush and won't be able to help herself or her family until she comes to terms with her own problems.

The lady expressed concern that Britney felt that she was above the law, after watching the video on the internet. The lady felt like Britney's people would contact her, and the call was never made.
